A great network of biking trails make this state park a perfect destination for expert and beginner bikers alike.
The Adventure Buddies went hiking at Montana de Oro and it was so incredibly beautiful. The cliffs with caves, tide pools, beaches, wildlife.. what a wonderful surprise it was for us to be able to capture incredible photos of the landscape and central coast cliffs. There were tons of sea otters in the waves playing. Nice to walk, explore, and stop at a beautiful picnic bench with spectacular breathtaking views. We highly recommend!

Scenic hiking trail in the Montana De Oro State Park.
Gorgeous views- hills behind, cliffs ahead, and a short level path down to the beach. Incredible tide pools with lots of creatures to be found. Huge kelp and lots of sandstone with urchin pits in it. Lots of fun for kids too. Careful on the rocks!

Closed for covid. We love this place because there are not as many people as the Montana de Oro bluffs. We've seen otters, whales, falcon, kestrel, numerous sea birds. It can be windy. It can be cold, It can be hot. Always beautiful.

Visit our tasting room and enjoy a $12 flight of our sustainably produced hand crafted wines. Our production is small and our grapes are sourced from up and down the Central Coast. Pinot heavy, but we have a total of 7 different varieties. We have bocce ball, corn hole and outdoor seating if you want to purchase a glass or bottle and hang out. Picnic, dog and kid friendly.

My son absolutely loved his opportunity to care for and ride the ponies during his one on one experience that Donna did an amazing job orchestrating. Talk about some priceless photos and videos that we got! The 45 minutes of personal attention really made our trip and my three year old son keeps asking us to do it again.

This is a very well executed preserve with pamphlets, informative stops, and a well maintained boardwalk. In addition to the boardwalk there are several other sand paths that you can explore and get a closer experience to the Elfin Oaks. You can enter or exit on many different streets which is nice, so you can mix up your walks if you frequent here. The Audubon society and others do nature walks here to help you learn more about the local flora and fauna as well.

Love this place. The cleaned up Merrimaker is even better. I'm so glad they did minimum to update this classic bar. The bathrooms are by far the biggest improvement. Same layout, same basic look and feel, but better. It made me feel like I was up in the mountains while grabbing a pint and hanging out with friends. Classic dive bar with warm welcoming people next to the beach, what more could you want?
