We spend a beautiful afternoon there among the green bamboos, several Japanese style wood structures, a Japanese garden with a Koi pond.
The admission is $8. per person and it well worth it.
I feel that this Japanese garden is a lot more beautiful than the ones in San Francisco and San Jose.

Have always wanted to go to the Fantasy of Lights at Vasona Park. Never got it done. This year we could get tickets for specific time to see the lights. Was very impressed with how organized the experience was. The lights were amazing. It took us about an hour and 15 minutes to see it all. I am so glad we finally saw it. Thinking of going back for a second time. The people in other cars were fun to watch too. Moon roofs had people above the roof. Some hung out of the windows. I know it is not politically correct but the only thing to make it better would have been a Hanukkah candles, Kwanzaa decorations and a Nativity.

Incredibly colorful and flavorful market, we spent one hour walking among stalls of fresh produce, flowers, soaps, pizza, naan, pastries, breads, cheeses, etc, the most amazing part was the sampling offered to the visitors, you can fill yourself and not be hungry for the rest of the day, but in case you want more foods you can stop at one of the charming cafes that are situated in the same street as the market. Parking was full therefore we parked at city hall and walked five minutes to the market. If I lived here I would go every Sunday and not miss one .

Last Saturday, friends and I and about 40 other wine club members participated in the "Grape stomping contest" -- it was so much fun, we all had a blast! There were at least 10, 5'x5' sturdy plastic bins filled 6" deep with juicy purple petite syrah grapes -- we had to sample a few BEFORE we got in to stomp! TASTY, too!!! The scene was hilarious -- some falling on their behinds (safely) laughing & splashing all the way. Our team (Lynn, Barbara and Renee) even won the contest due to having the most fun -- maybe they will put our pic on the website!!! We were awarded the biggest bottle of their delicious Cabernet Sauvingon (can't spell it but I sure will enjoy drinking it at the dinner party we will cook together for friends -- what was it, 1.5 liters?). Afterwards, we proceeded to "Wedding Hill" and enjoyed a wonderful buffet lunch accompanied by their fabulous wine with absolutely the most spectacular view of the world and glorious weather. We were wined, dined and the acoustic guitar of Duarte was music to our ears! Ahhhhhhhh................... Thank you, Martin and company at Byington Vineyard and Winery! It was a beautiful day!!!!!

It's hard to beat Testarossa pinot noir, and the historical cellar makes a great tasting room. Our one complaint is that there are so many events held here that it is hard for regulars (we are wine club members for over 10 years) to get to the tasting counters.

Oak Meadow Park

Reviewed By VWriter - Los Gatos, California

There's something for just about anyone to enjoy at Oak Meadow Park. Some of our friends whose fathers and grandfathers came from Italy gather at the bocci ball courts for a morning or afternoon social and exercise session; and they pass on the game and a part of their heritage to their kids the present generation. There's a big, grassy field for playing softball or other ball games. Barbeque pits and tables provide picnic facilities for the public. The carousel and the Billy Jones miniature railroad entertain children and adults both. There are animals for kids to pet. What more could anyone want?
This park is owned by the Town of Los Gatos except for the Billy Jones railroad and the carousel which operates in cooperation with the Town. This is a very nice recreational site in beautiful Los Gatos.
