We had heard of Bell and Gong through a friend who highly recommended their Pinot Noir he forget to mention how amazing the Riesling and Sauvignon Blanc are too. We were greeted by their pet Chihuahua and her four puppies. Simon and Frances welcomed us with a small cheese platter and very generous pours of their delicious wines, it felt more like visiting friends than a cellar door! The garden is beautiful too, well worth a visit.

Step six generations back in time. A wonderful day out against a backdrop of the National Rose Garden. Just 15 minutes from Launceston. The main house is as it was almost 200 years back, down to the minutest detail, table settings and decor-plus. Our tour (highly recommend taking the guided version) was led by a descendant of the Archer family, offering some captivating insights. Vintage vehicles, even mowers. Well worth quite a few hours.

We really enjoyed watching the “Australian Story” video, strolling around the historic buildings, then enjoying the magnificent gardens of the Homestead.

My mum and I visited the gardens after seeing the Brickendon farm village. The gardens and grounds are absolutely gorgeous. You could wonder through them for days, finding little treasures.

I would not have believed there were that many types and colours of roses available. Garden beds are wonderfully set out and it is pleasant just to stroll amongst them, admiring the blooms and smelling the wonderful perfume.
