First we visited Lizard Point with its stunning views, then we drove on to the beautiful Kynance Cove. Our holiday had taken on a bit of a Poldark theme and it’s clear to see why this stunning place was chosen for coastal beach scenes for the series. It was late afternoon by the time we visited so the car park was relatively empty. Being National Trust members, you just simply scan your card and parking is free. Annoyingly the tide times had been rubbed off of the public notice board so we took a chance and walked down the shorter path (which I agree some may consider quite steep and challenging), and luckily found we could still get down on to the beach this way. The views were amazing and we spent lots of time watching the crashing waves starting to reclaim the beach and climbing and walking along the cliff top watching the tide coming in from all angles. The colour of the sea and the sky at this time of day was simply breathtaking. It seemed we had timed our visit perfectly as the beach was rather empty, apart from the occasional nutter braving the waves resulting in a unnecessary visit from the life boat services. A trip here really blew the cobwebs away and made us realise how beautiful our coastline really is! We made memories that day that I will cherish forever. I’m not sure I’d have been so keen on a visit on the overcrowded summer days that other people describe though! I think it depends on what you want from a beach. I’m less about the bucket and spades and more about the breath taking views and the walking!

Brilliant and free! My 7 year old loved the pumpkin quiz and the toy section. The wedding dresses and old medicines were also great. We had a lovely morning looking around and the staff were lovely and friendly too. A huge plus was that it is dog friendly.

Breathtaking views of the rocky coastline - Britain's most southerly point, and walks along the headland reveal more spectacular sights at every turn. .

Second time we've stayed at Trewoon in Poldhu cove. Lovely spot to relax on the beach, grab a drink or bite to eat from the friendly beach cafe or book a surf lesson. The coastal path goes up either side of the beach for those seeking a bit more adventure. Already booked to return next year.

Lovely village and beach, love this place ... it has a hipster surfer vibe which is is a complementary contrast to the local area ... though hopefully doesn't go to far in future. The Ship is a great vantage point to watch the world go buy. The beach is also long (and on a pleasant September day) not too crowded.

If you like planes and helicopters this is well worth a stop. There were constant rounds of helicopters and a several planes taking off. No toilets, which was a bit of a shame but it is free to park and watch

A really interesting house architecturally, although of course it can only currently be admired from the outside. The gardens are a little past their best but I have to say that the walk up to the top of Godolphin Hill was well worth the 30 minute gentle climb across fields and through the bracken and broom. The views from the top are stunning. The paths up are well-trodden and quite muddy. Really enjoyed our visit.

Step back in time in the life-size Victorian Village and experience Britain in the Blitz in the award-winning Indoor Attractions. Enjoy Cornwall’s best day of the week - whatever the weather. I've always loved Flambards as when I was a child we used to visit every week in the holidays. Now with my own family I still love Flambards and we all go as regularly as we can. Our daughter Layla has been mascot Ferdi's number one fan since she first met him aged about 15 months. The staff are always very helpful, the rides for the little ones, older children and adults are great. The indoor attractions especially the Victorian Village are amazing and even having been through them many many times over the years there is always a magical feel to it and something new to discover. Flambards is a fantastic place for young children, their parents and grandparents. Plenty of cafes but also lots of places to enjoy a picnic outside. We love Flambards and are happy it's open again for the year :)
