This museum is well worth a visit. Art works range from Ancient Egypt and Persia to European art - including paintings by Botticelli, Pisanello and Raphael. The works on display are of outstanding quality, and would not look out of place in the Louvre at Paris. They are displayed freestanding – rather than attached to the walls – in roughly chronological sequence. Admission to the main exhibition is free, though there is a charge if you want to see any temporary exhibitions. There is a café which is expensive, but there is a room for eating your own picnic if you want to save a few euros. The large car park is free, but is a good five minutes walk from the museum.

Our preference is the 'Galerie du temps' where you can walk through the history of art. From the earliest cultures to the 19th Century and this in different parts of the world. This gives such a good overview of the evolution of art, sculpture in particular.
