After visiting a few years ago, we were reluctant to go back since we didn't care for their ciders. This visit we were pleasantly surprised to taste some really good cider! The cinnamon and the smackintosh were excellent. The tasting room was full so we sat out on the patio. It was a great stop.

First visit with friends today, wives sampled spirits and enjoyed Mackinac Island Fudge liquor, while we had moonshine margaritas. Wives enjoyed sampling, we thought moonshine margaritas were good but not likely to reorder. Beautiful building and attentive staff. A nice spot to stop up north.

If you have some extra time, take the drive up to Leland to see Fishtown. Several fishermen were in action. Charming shops surrounded the water. Tons of amateur photographers catching scenes. Be cautious navigating the shops near the water as the docks are narrow with no roping to prevent falls. This particular area wouldn't be safe for small children. We enjoyed walking along the Main Street exploring the other unique shops.

I visited here with a group of 4 and we all did tastings. We chose to share some of our tastings, allowing us each to sample quite a few wines. We loved pretty much everything we tasted! They do have significantly more whites on the menu than anything else, but it is a good variety nonetheless. I believe they have about 10 whites, 2 roses, and 3 reds, as well as a handful of ciders and dessert/sweet wines. I would highly highly recommend their 45 White, Fandango (rose), and Red Barn Red. Their staff is friendly and helpful and gave great recommendations. Kudos to Corbin for being great during our tasting! The ambience is also nice. The inside has an upscale barn vibe, while the outside is cute as well. We enjoyed taking photos by the Wine on the Line sign, featuring the vineyards. Would definitely go back!

This is a winery that we consistently buy from on our visits to the area. The tastings are interesting and the wines are fairly priced. The standout for us this year was the chardonnay. And we always buy some tart cherry wine - call us fudgies but it is nice with dessert, and they make the best in the county.

Excellent smoked fish...obviously the white fish...boneless. Counter person suggested the atlantic salmon as a different alternative...it was...different and good too. You can be in/out of here in less than 5 minutes. Take the time to find Carlson's, stop, buy, eat.

Like Two Lads and Rove, nice use of wood and modern aesthetic. Clean. spacious restrooms, great view, and nice staff. This is another place husband bought a couple bottles. I add this into the review, because if you go to one of the other wineries I have reviewed, and like the stuff there, you may also like the wine at these other places.

Stumbled upon this nice little winery by accident on our way to another one. On a peninsula full of wineries this one may not get the attention of some of the others, but it should. Ben, the manager, and Mary, who was in training, helped us and were very pleasant and helpful. Wines were very good. Particularly liked the Pinot Noir Rose, and the Chardonnay (unoaked). Highly recommend stopping by and sampling.

Just got back from visiting family in Northern Michigan. My father, who lives in Leland, booked a trip with Captain Tony so my young son could experience his first chartered fishing trip on Lake Michigan. It was my first time to fish on Lake Michigan as well. We had and amazing trip, a truly wonderful family time. We live in Arkansas and I've fished all of my life, but without a doubt this trip was the most enjoyable time I've had catching fish......and Captain Tony made sure we caught fish!!!!!! I highly recommend Reelin' Leland and Captain Tony. We had a great time and I thank you .

Manitou Island Transit

Reviewed By siouxbdoo - Tucson, Arizona

I've been to South Manitou many times over the years, yet there's always something new to appreciate. This year, the farm and cemetery tour was not offered (which was disappointing, as it's a very moving tour), but the hiking portion of the giant cedars and shipwreck tour was great. Using a Kubota to pull the wagon for the tour has changed the dynamic, unfortunately - it's very loud and the diesel smell is not pleasant. Have to say, I really enjoyed the old trucks that used to take the wagon tours much more.

As always, we passed by the North Manitou shoal light at a close distance - it will be interesting to see what it becomes should it sell to a private entity. Drinking water and clean rest rooms are available in the picnic area, but make sure you take snacks and/or lunch. Still a great day - we'll be back.
