This Museum was the home of one of the first doctors in the area, Dr. Robert Woods and family. Dr. Woods practiced medicine right out of his own home in the fully restored attached medical wing. Built in 1927 for Dr. Woods, the house is a fine example of Craftsman style architecture, decorated in the Art Deco period. It charmingly illustrates an upper-middle class lifestyle from the late 1920s.

We are one of the last wood crib elevators built and remaining in Alberta. In 2003 we were granted Registered Historic Site status and are a volunteer driven society. We are a museum dedicated to telling the story of agriculture and elevators in this area.

Telford Lake is one of Leduc’s best kept secrets. I had lived in Leduc for 7 years before spending any time around Relford Lake. In the summer and fall it is great for walking and viewing the water fowl including pelicans! The paved walking paths are well maintained.

Rabbit Hill Snow Resort is the largest Capital Region Ski and Snowboard Resort located in the scenic North Saskatchewan River valley 15 minutes South West of Edmonton. Rabbit Hill offers over 40 acres of ski and snowboard trails as well as one of the best Terrain parks in Western Canada. Need some lessons? No problem. Rabbit Hill’s award winning Snow School offers lessons for all ages and ability levels and will make skiing or snowboarding fun and effortless.
Once again I found myself in the happy circumstance of fitting in some time on the slopes (a.k.a. playing hooky), on my way back home. It was pleasantly warming up (finally) and Rabbit Hill is perfectly located for an afternoon. 30 minutes from West Edmonton Mall and BONUS! only 15 minutes/20 km from YEG, you can catch a taxi to Rabbit Hill between flights or while someone else does their shopping. Now onto the soft and fuzzy stuff. With a vertical of 320 feet Rabbit is near the lower end of run length for a city-side slope (I note Snow Valley - which is even closer to WEM - has a vertical less than Ski Dubai's indoor runs - so put the Bunny in context), it is however a fine place to carve the curves. I add that most city-side slopes are largely mogul deficient (except that special part of Winsport GO CALGARY!!!!) so don't get your hopes up. There is however a goodly amount of lift capacity, almost up to Winsport levels, so line-ups are short. The snow was in great shape, no ice, rocks, trees or lost hikers poking up through the white stuff. I did a few runs on the chair and then spent the rest of the time on the t-bars as you get more runs in. Average round trip time was a few minutes - longer up than down for almost everyone. HINT: Once you've acclimated to the place head over to the t-bars - many more runs as they are notably faster than the chairlift. Overall Rabbit Hill offers great bang for the buck. Decent cafe as well.

We play pickle ball, use the track, use the gym, pool and sauna. There is something for all ages. The place is clean and well maintained.
