Opening weekend, May 13 & 14! The Great Escape & Splashwater Kingdom has over 135 rides, shows & attractions, including a full outdoor water park. Featuring thrilling rides like Comet and the all-new Extreme Supernova as well as two children's areas - there is something for everyone!
We've visited Great Escape for the first time and were really disappointed. We are roller coaster enthusiasts and found that two of their five coasters were closed both days. The only thing that "salvaged" the trip was the ride crew on the Comet, who seemed to really enjoy their job and allowed us numerous repeat rides due to the low crowd. BTW, the Comet should not be missed - despite being 90 years old, the Comet delivers plenty of airtime without being very rough.
Our first day, we arrived late afternoon and found the park very difficult to navigate due to the combination of fog machines and lack of lighting. Perhaps that works great for the Halloween theme, but we became really frustrated on trying to find specific places.
Overall, I would have to rate this park this park very low - perhaps at the bottom in the theme parks that we have visited. Because of it's past history as Storyland, it does have lost of things for the little ones to do. If we were in the neighborhood, we would stop in try and ride the coasters we missed, but would not make a special trip to visit.

During a 1791 visit, Thomas Jefferson was moved to say, "Lake George is without comparison, the most beautiful water I ever saw." Not much has changed. Today this 32-mile long, 3-mile wide dazzling lake draws vactioners who come to enjoy a plethora of outdoor endeavors including sailing, swimming, cruising on historic steamboats, hiking and more.
When you put together a fantastic scenic location with a fun festival you get a winter destination from watching the outhouse races to the motorcycle and snomobiles then add in great restaurants and of course some hot chocolate from Stewart’s or dunkin you’ve got a fun filled and economical four weekends of February

This collection is beyond any small towns desires for beautiful art and culture. What a treasure located in hometown, USA. I love visiting with friends and family when they visit and also just to stop by for special exhibits when flying solo. Renoir, Picasso, Ruebens just to name a few...along with gorgeous architecture and lovely history.

Ledge Rock Hill is a family-run winery that’s situated into the bluffs of the Adirondack Mountains. Through a passion for fine wine and a dedication to the art of its production, our family creates a unique stock of hand-made wines. For a safe, memorable adventure, Sacandaga Outdoor Center (S.O.C.) is the area’s premiere family destination. From Rafting, Tubing to Kayaking, Canoeing and Stand Up Paddle Boarding (SUP), there are trips for everyone… from Mild to Wild! Cool off this spring & summer! Paddle the best white water, using the best guides, the best equipment, the best prices, and the best location. Tube with the biggest and best outfitter on the Sacandaga and Hudson Rivers. Bring your whole group and have fun. The S.O.C. staff photographer captures everyone in the middle of the best rapids. Also, take advantage of their Riverside Parking – no post-paddle trek to your car is necessary because our lot is right at the take-out.
SOC was our first choice for selecting a white water rafting trip. All the reviews are spot on. The staff was so friendly. We started talking to a guide, named Matt, and he was just so down to earth and friendly with our kids, I asked if he would be our guide. He said of course, I just had to request him inside. They made some shifts to their raft layouts and Matt was our guide! I went out the back I gave the gentleman a $20 tip. It's the kind of service that I like when on vacation. He treated my kids with respect and was so entertaining. Our rafting adventure was awesome. We had an amazing water battle with two other rafts. We were able to swim in the waiver for awhile and even was taught how to dive with a life vest to the bottom of the river against the current to pick up a rock. The rapids are fine for ages 5 and up. I felt the price was reasonable. I would have given the company 5 Stars, but the only thing I didn't like was that it cost $35 to buy an entire CD or airdropped of the pics from all three rafts. I just wanted a single pic of our raft at one spot. The company wouldn't sell you just one pic.
Take my advice. I live in a tourist resort in NJ and if you would sell a single pic for $10, families would pay for it and you would increase your revenue!!! I just don't get your philosophy having to buy all the pictures. Very disappointed in regards to your photography policy.
Thank Matt for a great rafting experience! Bella and Josiah kicked butt in the water wars!!!

A 2,030-foot mountain in Lake George that offers trips to the summit in "viewmobile" vans for awesome views.
Nothing finer than a day in the woods getting away from a tourist trap town to hike up the mountain to a 100-year defunct tourist trap. Not much for scenic viewing until you get to the top, but the top is really good. Two hours up and one hour down.

Such a quaint little place,.... Yes it actually is an old barn! And it is just off the Main Street and you could drive right by without seeing it, but it well worth stopping and looking through,.. we had a bite to eat and just enjoyed sitting in the "old-time setting",.... it throws you back in time,.... AND the soft ice cream was THE Best we've ever had.
I wish we had stopped during the Summer months,...they have live outdoor music twice a week,... sounded like good hometown fun! Maybe next season,.....

Best fire tower hike around ! Views that are just beyond amazing! In the summer months there is a Steward there most days from SUNY who can share many interesting facts about the mountain and it's history. The hike is somewhat strenuous , but many folks seem to conquer it even if they're not in great shape. Roundtrip is 3.6 miles, it is fairly steep most of the way.. As you near the top, there is an overlook, but that is just the beginning! Keep moving along until you reach the top and the views will make your heart stutter... Trail is popular and parking can get tight. Well worth the visit! I was lucky enough to be there on 6/26/15 when the refurbishing of the fire tower was completed ! I was also lucky enough to be one of the first few to climb to the top and enjoy the gift of this beautiful place! Thank you to the team of folks who did such a great job!

As rodeos go, this one was OK. I"ve been to many out west and this one was no different. HOWEVER, the announcer was disgusting. He was misogynistic, making jokes about ugly, fat women, dumb blondes, etc. There were sexual innuendos, etc. This was a family event, with many children present. The jingoistic, religious rhetoric was also offensive. Don't get me wrong, I'm a patriot, a war veteran, and a strong advocate for our government, and freedom of religion. I believe that is what our country was founded on. However, this came down as an ad for a rally for our current president , not a rodeo. The two should not be intermixed. Shame on the owner for allowing this announcer to keep his job.
