It was a cold rainy day so many of the animals were inside their home and unavailable, however, those who were out or whose home we could visit...got our attention. The giraffes were terrific, and we saw the elephant getting his ear scratched by a keeper, and a large tiger decided to come out and start pacing close to us. Great Fun! Thus we spent most of our time inside the venues, plenty snakes, great bat area, lots of desert folk, and a delightful family of javelin's, Great way to spend a day!

Werner Park

We attended two ballgames in a weekend. The parking attendants were helpful and friendly. I nearly missed the "will call window" because it is a small shed. The park was nice, but we were surprised at the concession prices. Compared to other parks it seems pricey. Also, the Royals allow outside food and drink, so I was surprised the triple A venue does not.

Did the 2pm tour on Saturday and had a blast learning about their production and enjoying some tasty brews. About 25 people in the tour, most took advantage of a groupon I didn't know about since I'm from out of town. Funny employee did a great job of informing us on the process while keeping it light and humorous. Got a free pint with the tour and a taste of their vodka at the end. Bought a sixer when we left cause the quality is good and unique for me. Lots of space in the bar to play bags, board games, watch tv, etc. Hope to be back on another visit.

The concert was great and people at Arena very friendly. When I bought tickets I asked about stairs because I had recently had knee replacement. Was told these were excellent seats and stairs were minimal. Well after three flights of stairs up and finding seats we were in balcony. Because of curtain could not view the whole screen and by intermission we left because of my knee pain. Overall I think the Ralston Arena is great and looking forward to seeing some hockey there. Would definitely recommend.

Bushwackers Dance Hall and Saloon

County Bar with typical food options and pizza. I had a steak sandwich that was okay: nothing special, but acceptable and fairly priced. Others in our party had the pizza and reported it to be tasty. The service was a bit weak, but not really the fault of the server, as the facility was understaffed and she appeared overwhelmed. There was a mistake on the drink tab, but it was quickly corrected with a genuine apology. The mechanical bull is a hoot. A few billiard tables including a unique "L" shaped table provided entertainment. The dance floor was well attended in spite of the DJ who was a bit crass and overly "yappy." Free dance lessons on Wednesday nights are nicely done by Shar, and will keep us coming back.

We tried the beer platter and it was really neat. Not our favorite but that's just because we aren't huge beer drinkers. But their mixed drinks were sooooo good. We highly suggest the Peach Pale Ale Punch! The servers do not come to your table you have to go up to the bar. Which is annoying because it took a long time to get our drinks when they got busy. The tables are super close together as well. So it's not so easy to get around. They have a second room that's large and open where you can watch the game and play pool but we couldn't stand to be in there and apparently no one else could either since it was empty. They keep the big screen on way too loud. We couldn't even hear each other when trying to speak.

We visited the center when they had the exhibit, Metamorphosis. This exhibit is an artful display using reclaimed materials; there is a teaching display that discusses how the use of plastic in our lives has impacted the environment and wildlife. What an eye-opening experience! There are suggestions about how to reduce the use of plastics in our everyday lives. The plants were beautiful as well. This was an amazing display and I will definitely return! Highly recommended!
