Rented bikes to get to the park. Did not swim but it was a nice beach and it looked like everyone was having a great time. We took a long walk along the boardwalk. The boardwalk follows the lake shore. We experience beautiful trees and flora. We also saw quite a few interesting birds. There is also a nice picnic area. There were other trails but we ran out of time. We enjoyed our afternoon.

We operate an intimate 900-seat, all-canvas, state-of-the-art tent theater, producing and presenting a fifty-plus night summer season of concerts, lectures, and a highly acclaimed professional local troupe which performs original multi-media musicals in the tent and on tour. Tent Show Radio, a weekly one hour program which showcases live performances from the Big Top stage, is aired on public radio stations throughout the country.Named "The Best Outdoor Concert Venue" by the Minneapolis Star Tribune, June 2013.We partner with Non-Profit Mt. Ashwabay Outdoor Education Foundation who provide 100% of food and drink concessions.
This was just a wonderful experience. The tent is at the bottom of a ski hill and is staffed by volunteers. There are shops, food, ice cream and beer tents on the grounds. Our show was an Opry outlaw presentation. The musicians were just amazing. They had the audience engaged and on our feet by the end. Just a must do at a great price.

Beautiful public beach, scenic overlook into Big Bay Lagoon.
We camped in this park for 6 days. Very private sites that are well maintained. It was relatively quiet as we were there during the week. Loved the access to the beach where we were able to launch our kayak (some stairs involved) and collect unusual rocks. The highlight was the continuous singing of birds and the significant number of fireflies at night. What a treat.

Very interesting museum with all the history of this tiny island. Kids also love it. Laid out very nice to appeal to everyone.

They rent bicycles and mopeds. We rented bicycles, which were in good shape. They give you a helmet if you want one. They give you a bike route map and explain different options. We started out on the main road (Middle Road) toward Big Bay State Park, but we found it boring and there was a lot of car and truck traffic. Also, despite the bright sunny day, the road was dark due to shadows cast by tall trees. We abandoned the plan to go to Big Bay State Park, turned right on South Shore Drive, and followed it around. The scenery was more varied, and we could see the water through the trees. Only one car passed us on that whole stretch of road. When we stopped to drink water or just look around, the silence felt otherworldly, almost holy. Turning right again at Old Fort Road was the way back into town, but before doing that, we took a short detour on a dirt road down to a tiny beach by the water. This route took us only one-and-a-half hours, including our short beach walk, so if you want a more challenging ride, maybe the Big Bay State Park round trip would be more to your liking.

Small public sandy swimming beach with dock, picnic shelter, playground, and seasonal restrooms. Great place to just sit and relax.
We needed a parking place and we found it here at Joni’s beach, right in front of the house of our kayak instructor. We enjoyed the flowers and relaxed on the bench, watching the waves. There was quite a breeze and the sand was quite...MoreJoni's Beach is indeed a great spot to relax and take a break. We're glad you enjoyed your time here and found it to be a pleasant experience. Thank you for your compliments and we hope you return!

Cultural site offering lectures, films and art exhibits.
This small gallery features local art in rotating exhibitions, which run the gamut in style and prices. Reflects the creative spirit in the northland - the "Back Door Gallery" (room in the back) is small but has quality one-of-a-kind gifts and art. Some really ice jewelry, candles, paintings and cd's featuring local musicians. Picked up one - which is nice background for brunch music. Soothing, melodic.

Bayfield Winery offers a generous selection of apple-based fruit wines made right here in beautiful Bayfield, WI. Blueberry, blackberry, cherry, cranberry, and raspberry make up just a few of the wines you may taste when visiting Bayfield Winery, located in the big red barn at Hauser's Superior View Farm.
We stopped after visiting Applefest and enjoyed the samples of apples and so much more. The new Merlot were so good, we had to buy a bag! The view from the top of the Sears catalog barn is indeed Superior!

We were a week early for blueberries and raspberries in Bayfield County. Found that out trying to find an orchard to pick berries. Most, in fact, had very little in the shelves for retail. Nonetheless, our favorite was Blue Vista Farm. Among those actually open, Blue Vista is quiet and quaint. The shop in the picturesque barn has been recently cleaned out and remodeled. Although there was not much to see there, by the time you read this and head over, I expect it to be full and it will be charming. We met the manager who found us to show us pictures of the almost-ripe raspberries in the field. We could see the green blueberries on the bush from our car and it looks like a fine crop coming. He had such a passion for the farm and the area, it was a delight to visit with him and we are pleased to encourage you to make Blue Vista an orchard stop on your trip to Bayfield.
