A large and spacious park beside the Archbishop’s Palace, these gardens are beautiful to just rest and relax in. There are little lakes and watercourses, a tiny zoo of sorts and a farm for petting animals. Little kiosks serve refreshments near the palace. Statuary and little architectural follies are interspersed amid the trees and flowers of the large gardens. Perfect for a relaxing stroll in Kromeriz.

Illustration of the garden with elements of the late Renaissance Italian garden and baroque Classicist French garden art ... a rotunda with a Foucault pendulum, a 244 m long colonnade with an accessible gallery, large greenhouses, mazes, flower beds ... Is it all? ... Of course not .. You can visit one of the concerts held in the Flower Garden greenhouse. I participated in the concert of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Zlín and I listened to the compositions of J. Suk, P. I. Tchaikovsky and A. Dvorak of Novosvětská. An unusual experience ... Come to visit, you will not be disappointed.

The wooden Castle built in the 12th century and the whole town was burnt to the ground in 1643 by the Swedish King. Everything was rebuilt in a Baroque Style and the new stone Castle and 64 ha. garden is protected by UNESCO. The Church has paintings comparable to the Sistine Chaple and is an awsome place to visit. Kromeriz was a very important diocese and the bishops and archbishops were very influential in Czech History

The museum is housed in a wonderful building dating back to the early part of the 17th century. At basement level there is a collection of treasures relating to the towns history. A really eclectic collection which even includes parts of a woolly mammoth. Elsewhere there was a display of historical clocks and timepieces going back over the centuries. On the first floor there is a magnificant display of the works of the Czech artist Max Svabinsky an extraordinary talent. On the second floor a super display showing Czech customs. Most of the information boards are in Czech and English. Staff are extremely helpful and accommadating.
