Krishnagiri is a city in Tamil-Nadu and administrative headquarters of Krishnagiri District in the part of Kongu Nadu region in western part of Tamil Nadu. It is located at the bottom of Syed Basha Hill, and the town is fully surrounded by Hill rocks. It is located 90 kilometres (56 mi) from Bangalore and 45 km from Hosur. and 40 km from Dharmapuri. Mango is cultivated as the main crop, and the land here is extremely fertile with rich access to fresh water making it amenable to growing crops. Krishnagiri is a rapidly growing town and is the site of significant business and residential development. The Krishnagiri Dam is currently undergoing expansion and a variety of small-scale industry zones are being set up. As of 2011, the town had a population of 71,323.

This temple is bit off the Bangalore chennai highway...a little after Krishnagiri....One needs to take a U turn below the flyover else u might miss the cut ! you can buy a full coconut which they tie it in red bag and after the pooja issue a token,...You need to go round the temple 11 times chanting the Ram Mantra...and then keep the bag with the others in the lot..the belief is that...if your wish comes true in 3 months, you need to get the slip and collect the coconut and make some sweet dish out of it...if the wish comes true after 3 months, then they would break the coconut. There are no restaurants near by to the temple. parking is available.

The route to the dam from Krishnagiri is very pleasant. Drive along the reservoir that is fish stall,Worthy visit if the reservoir water level is full.
