In the centre of Kos town you will find this very attractive square. Great place to have a coffee and people watch. Small market for gifts next to the church, which is a worth a visit.

Whenever I visit a new city, island or country within Europe I look to identify if there are any Roman Empire archaeological sites or museums. On this occasion there was fortunately a number of historical locations within the archeological quarter of Kos Town. This site is an excellently preserved example of a Roman villa with excellent murals. There are a number of internal and external ruins, excellent descriptions of the purpose of each room and the types of activities that would have occurred. There are very well preserved pots and utensils as well as statues. Finally there was also a very well preserved garden area in the middle of the villa. This is a very enjoyable location and a must visit for Roman history fans such as myself.

Went here for lunch and to spend the afternoon on the beach and saw the great reviews. Me and my partner had a brilliant afternoon here! Service was excellent along with the food. We even got given some complimentary drinks before leaving. Will definitely visit again when visiting Kos and recommend anyone to spend the afternoon there!

We walked up here from Kos town; about 5 kilometres from our hotel. The site is very extensive and well maintained. It normally charges a few Euros for entry but we were there during the Covid crisis and entry was free. There are three levels and each has its own charms and interests. It's the most popular visitor centre on Kos but it was relatively quiet when we visited. There's a pleasant shaded bar area where you can relax with a beer or soft drink. And the toilets on site were clean and well cared for. Definitely recommend a visit. There's an extensive car park for those who can't face the climb on foot.

This was built by knights Templar and is Kos' main tourist attraction.
Wow what a cute little place, lots of cute shopping streets and plenty of good food places to stop and eat, the harbour is busy at night and looks lovely when all the boats are back from their trips, prices are all reasonable meals range from 8 euros upwards and good portion sizes you can get large beers 500ml for around 2/3 euro cocktails from €6 euros, Kos offers boat trips, beach trips, sunset trips, day trips over to Bodrum in Turkey this was €20 worth a trip but get back to the boat early as you end up queuing in the hot sun for an hour as there is only 2 passport officers so there’s plenty to do. My one biggest grudges is though the bikes Kos is a bicycle friendly island and they hire these out to the tourists in the hundreds they are everywhere they even have their own cycle paths but these are wider than the pavements and encroach on on to the paths so you’ve got to look and look again ..... oh and all the trees are laid in the paths so this makes it difficult to walk safely on the paths too but I would definitely recommend it.

Not too far from the centre of Kos Town, although when it's hot it does feel like a walk. We visited in mid-august and weren't disappointed. Fascinating (from a normal tourist's view) how well preserved the Roman Odeon of Kos remains and fires the gears of your imagination to what has come before the modern day Kos. Essential visit if this is of interest as is the nearby (5 minute walk?) Roman House of Casa Romana which is a slightly larger and more involved historical attraction. A beautiful memory for our family to have viewed these ruins.

Be sure to stop at Helen’s Beach where she will supply comfy sun beds with huge sun umbrellas and she’ll serve you from the Blue Phoenix Restaurant (yummy food, too) right next door. I’ve never had such great beach service!

So glad we came here ! You are told from the off that the windmill tour is free but you are expected to buy something from the shop (absolutely worth it !) Really friendly people who invited to take a seat whilst we sampled a free tray with a selection of their delicious biscuits and breadsticks made from the flour ground in the windmill from locally sourced wheat. Inside the windmill was really interesting and we were shown how everything works and how the flour is produced. They started the mill and (as it was a windy day) the sails were flying round at an impressive rate ! Inside the grindstones were spinning really fast and it was exciting to be in there with everything working! . We really enjoyed visiting this place and its great for families with kids or couples alike. Excellent experience and the cookies were awesome - we bought bags of them for a bargain 2.5 euro per bag to enjoy later in the week .

Found when passing, interest relics left by both Greeks and Romans including mosaic floors and roads. Loved it and well worth a visit!

My family and I visited the Tree of Hippocrates, whist in Kos during June 2017. We visited during the day and at night which is amazing. It is beautifully lit up. Such moving moments when we sat beneath the tree, and imagined what it would have been like when the Father of Modern Medicine taught right there were we imagined him doing so. Beautiful cafes, restaurants and gift shops near by. Don't miss this tourist attraction.
