This attraction has been renovated with help from the European Union to a very high standard. The local language is very difficult but there are English information leaflets available. When you see how people lived and died hundreds of years ago in a setting that even young children would find ok.

Barokní lékárna U Bílého jednorožce. “At the White Unicorn”, a unique baroque pharmacy. The former pharmacy can only be visited by guidetour, which is really outstandin and top notch! The guide provides lots of info, tell about its history and stories with so much passion that it seems one is part in its history. All given, not with a fake smile as we have seen so many times, but a smile and friendlyness right from the heart. A must see when visiting Klatovy! The White Unicorn Baroque apothecary is situated in the square in a house of Klatovy pharmacists. The unique Baroque interior was created by the Jesuits for their own apothecary within the order college. After the order dismission in 1773 the equipment was sold to the local pharmacist called Firbas, who transferred it in his house. During the tour inside visitors can follow the development of pharmacy from its beginning to 1966, when the apothecary finished its public service. White Unicorn Gallery: Gallery of contemporary art was founded 1990. The gallery is one of the largest contemporary art museums in the Czech Republic. Taking pix of the interior is prohibited, postcards of its interior are for sale.

This brand new museum - opened in August 2014 - contains a wonderful collection of glass manufactured between 1880 and 1940 by the leading Bohemian glassworks, Loetz Witwe. Quite apart from the high quality of the glass exhibited, which is exceptional, the display is beautifully designed to show the art nouveau and art deco shapes and colours to their maximum advantage. Anyone visiting Klatovy, and anyone interested in glass visiting the Czech Republic, should reserve a few hours to enjoy this feast of the glassmakers' art.

Bílá věž. The White Tower was built in 1581 as a belfry and entrance gate to a town cemetery which was placed next to the Archdean Church. After the 1758 fire it was built higher and modified into today's shape. The western portal (towards the square) originally decorated the entrance in the church. In its top there is a relief of the Virgin Mary of Klatovy.

Kamenné hradby. Klatovy medieval fortification is known in its original appearance of from the painter Jana Willenberg engraving, originated 1602. Double belt of fortification, numerous circular and quadrangular bastions, round towers, some of them still exist. It arose simultaneous with the founding of the town in 1260. The earliest appearance is unknownas the oldest preserved remains date back to beginning 14th century. In front of t main wall, two meters thick, 10 to 12 meters high, an auxiliary wall was situated, bottom part served as well as side wall of a moat at places up to 25 meters wide. The outer wall in front of the moat arose 15th century, with semicircular bastions and a second moat. Three town gates: Lubská (Vídeňské ulice), Špitálská (ulici Kpt. Jaroše), and Klášterská (Pražské ulice) all of them demolished first half 19th century. The town’s original appearance is shown at the façade of the elementary school (Plánické ulici) in form of historical views of the town (local painter Josef Čejka). In the vicinity is a mighty round tower 14th century. More remains of the fortification can be found in Hostaš Park, eastern part of the area between the former town walls. In 19th century parts of the walls were pulled down not to limit the areal development of the town. Still today Klatovy has one of the best preserved medieval fortifications.

Parish church, sheltering the miraculous picture of the Virgin Mary of Klatovy. The oldest church in the town was established shortly after the town foundation in the late 13th century. From the original building only a small part was preserved. After 1400 the presbytery was rebuilt, after the vault had collapsed the nave was reconstructed in 1550. The furniture comes from the Baroque era. After 1685, when the miraculous image was placed upon the high altar, it becomes an important pilgrimage church. The church interior can only be seen from the portal iron latticework (photographing forbidden, but when none present possible, but dark). The church is opened at prayerservice, but taking pix impossible as some eldery matrones keep a close eye on it. When you have the opportunity to attend mass (even not being a catholic) it more then worthwhile: when prayerservice starts tiny lights start to twinkle at the altar, the more the service progresses the brighter and the more lights twinkle; When the service in full swing the altar shines and twinkles like a X-mass tree on Christmas eve, really magical...
