Kirkintilloch (/ˌkɜːrkɪnˈtɪləx/; Scottish Gaelic: Cair Cheann Tulaich) is a town and former royal burgh in East Dunbartonshire, Scotland. It lies on the Forth and Clyde Canal and on the south side of Strathkelvin, about 8 miles (13 km) northeast of central Glasgow. Historically part of Dunbartonshire, the town is the administrative centre of the East Dunbartonshire council area, and its population in 2009 was estimated at 19,700.

St Mary's Parish Church - A Cathedral for Kirkintilloch We will be open to visitors on the FIRST Wednesday of every month from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.and we would welcome you to visit our church to see our architecture, wood panelling and carving and our stained glass windows, designed and created by well known Scottish craftspeople. Do come and visit our beautiful and interesting building.
