Phu Quoc Countryside – the perfect place to experience the real life of a farmer...in a Vietnamese environment.
My girlfriend and I had an amazing time with Pham at his organic pepper farm, first discovering the facilities and the different crops, then cooking Vietnamese meals ! Enriching conversations, delicious food and local beer, and shared culture !!!

Vinpearl Safari Park – Vietnam’s largest wildlife conservation park . Nestled in Bai Dai, the Northwest coast of Phu Quoc Island, Vinpearl Safari Park, boasting to be Vietnam’s largest zoological park, conserve abundant indigenous and exotic flora and fauna. The sanctuary is home to 400 species of plants, and 2000 wild animals representing 130 different species, many of which are considered rare a
Somebody said it only takes half a day, well we got there soon after opening, using the complimentary shuttle bus service, and stayed till closing time!. Probably the best 'zoo' experience we've had with the superb interaction possible with the giraffes, elephants and lemurs plus the bird show too which gave us the opportunity to hold the birds and take photographs. Everything was clean and well presented, the only sad animal was the lion cub but there's probably a back story to why he was by himself. The safari was well run with commentary in Vietnamese and English and the animals came very close to the bus with a brown bear even being fed by the driver. Plenty of places to get refreshments which we needed - it was a hot day - and reasonably priced. Overall a very good day out.

Sun World Hon Thom Nature Park brings an entertainment world of incredible experiences with Hon Thom cable car system – World’s longest sea-crossing cable car 7.899,9m in length that officially opening in February 2018; Aquatopia Water Park - one of the most modern water parks in Southeast Asia with 6 significant gamezones and various water-sport games in Bai Trao beach.
When we were in Phu Quoc with my family, we went to the Sun World Hon Thom Nature Park via the Hon Thom Cable Car. It was thrilling when we passed through each pillar of the cable car. The speed and the cable car were steady enough so we really enjoyed when riding inside.

We visited as part of a tour of the island and this place was eye opening and very humbling. There is a small museum as you enter with photos and items which start to bring the horrors to life. You can then walk through part of the camp and see the living quarters (if that’s what you would call them) for the prisoners and we conditions and torture methods used against the prisoners. There are escape tunnels which you can see. This is a humbling experience and very sad to see. We had a guide that really brought this to life for us and explained the true horrors that unfolded in the camp. Would a visit, eye opening and thought provoking.

Almost every Chinese temple on Phu Quoc has a portrait or a statue of Ho Chi Minh nicely arranged along the many avatars of Buddha and the saints. The combination is mesmerizing, do not miss this one!

I chose Thu Bao restaurant via my friend recommendation The food is soooo delicious! Fishes, shrimps and snails are so FRESH and HUGE . They also have various food offer in the menu to choose. The price is cheaper than most of restaurants in Duong Dong town. And you can enjoy the atmostphere on the beach The road is so dangerous you should come with friends and shouldnt drive at night.

We stayed at the Sea Star Resort on Long Beach and the stretch of beach in front of this hotel was very clean, the water clear and the sand of high quality. There also were plenty of available lounge chairs. A really, really nice beach for sunbathing, book reading and swimming. Not on par with some of the beaches in Thailand but still a very nice beach.
