Very old. Very pious. Sacred. I visited it together with my friend in the beginning of April. Thanks God, it was a low season and Tuesday so there were no omnipresent obnoxious chirping tourists inside. People just prayed, lit candles, kissed icons. Like it must be in an Orthodox church. Recommended (hats off for men, heads covered for women, appropriate dress for everyone).

Because it's not Mitridatskaya Lestnitsa but Great Mithridates Staircase. I approached it together with my friend in the beginning of April. Gone are the times when its stairs were cracked and dilapidated - Russia, new ruler of Crimea, has started to rebuild the peninsula and Kerch is no exception. The staircase shines with all its former splendor, as if brand new! Official opening is planned for the V-Day, together with the war memorial on top of Mount Mithridat which renovation is also practically accomplished. There's a slight difference between the former and the present - and real - owner, isn't there? The bridge, new highways, a new power plant, new hospitals, renovated resort facilities, soft loans to wine-makers, higher standard of living. Which country treated (or treats) this region as its valuable asset, er?

Kerch is a Soviet Hero city. This monument is a must see for those interested in the Great Patriotic War and great views of Kerch and the new bridge to the Russian mainland.
