What a great place to take a leisurely stroll. "After hours" it is the perfect place to bring your people and dog friendly pooch. This goes without saying, really, but clean up after your dog - people will take notice and will take action. And humans, please pick up your own trash!

The indoor exhibits were well presented and interesting to anyone young or old. An unexpected highlight was the "Sculpture Tour" throughout the the main trail to the beaches. Easy to navigate, well maintained trails. PWS48 PWS48

Quiet and family-oriented Maine beach.
This is the prettiest beach with the softest sand in the area. Parking is difficult. This is nice for kids because of the little sandbars that form when the tide is higher.

Wow, I was so excited to see that Roomful of blues was going to play in Maine at this place called Vinegar Hill music theater, that I had never heard of. So off we went to Arundel to find the Vinegar Hill music theater. I was really impressed. It is a very cute country barn theater with outdoor bar and gathering area which has beautiful lighting, it has an indoor bar as well and they do offer some snacks. I was a little bummed that they didn't have food but that was OK we had great seats as our friend is the sound engineer for the band and they were just fabulous, the acoustics in this place are awesome. The only thing that I would recommend is a space for dancing now granted it is a theater and I don't know much about this venue so it may make sense that they don't have a dancing area, but I would recommend it if you're going to have bands such as the Roomful of Blues. It is a very intimate and quaint venue I was so happy and I had a great time. I look forward to seeing who else they have play there and would very much go back. I would recommend it if you are visiting in the Kennebunk area of Maine to check it out. It'd be a great date night!!

This scenic drive in Kennebunkport passes by former President George Bush's summer home.
there is a sidewalk that crosses back and forth. Watch out though, there are plenty of curves and traffic. Walk up far enough and you will get to the Bush compound. (you can tell by the crowds) Everyone and all the locals have their favorite story of the Bush family. they are well loved in the area.

We went on the off season to walk the beach and it was just so peaceful. I loved this beach. There were some surfers there and we found a few seashells. If you are in the area go here and take a stroll and enjoy the sand and waves.

This “beach area” is great for families. A kids play ground is adjacent to the beach. Relatively small area that becomes crowded when weather is warm. Great place for kids / families to sit and watch people play in the water / waves. Note: parking is limited so early time to visit is BEFORE 9 am. Available parking is steps from your towels and chairs. Delightful place to visit with porta-potties close by. Enjoy!

My companion likes coming back to this antique store whenever we are visiting this area. This time she started up on the second floor; she usually runs out of energy exploring the first floor, so this was like visiting a new antique shop by starting upstairs.
The staff here are all quite helpful and friendly. Their computer system actually remembers you, even if you have not been back for a couple of years. So if you are a past customer in good standing, paying by check is easy.
The wares are laid out in good order. You don't usually have to stumble over stuff to examine items of interest. The shop offers everything from license plates to dinner ware. One vendor just to the right of the entrance has, for years, displayed a set of China from which we have purchased replacement items for ours back home. Whether you are in the mood to buy or not, walking through this shop and viewing the items is a pleasant trip back in time.
We did notice several empty cases upstairs. This shop also has two modern, clean bathrooms, a thoughtful touch.

Rachel Carson National Wildlife Refuge was established to protect valuable salt marshes and estuaries for migratory birds. Visitors can enjoy wildlife viewing year-around on the refuge.
The Rachel Carson National Wildlife Refuge honors the work of a major American naturalist. Ms. Carson would no doubt be happy to see how this place was developed. Its located in a wooded setting. One follows a flat, well-marked path with lookouts along the way, where one can stop to take in beautiful views of the salt marshes, with different aspects of their ecology highlighted in a brochure that one can pick up at the visitors center. The atmosphere is such that one is inclined to proceed at a leisurely pace and just enjoy being in this beautiful place. The entire walk is one mile in length. Thank goodness for nature preserves like this one!
