I visited this Temple while in Kamaishi for RWC 2019. It is a magnificent site to explore and is very peaceful and quiet. The views of the bay and Kamaishi from the top are excellent. This city was devastated by the tsunami with a large loss of life so this huge statue is a fitting place to go and reflect. I took a taxi up to the top and walked back to town (about 40mins) Well worth a visit.
