Located 25 miles north of Coulterville, this town is currently one of the favorite gold panning locales off of Highway 49.
Went to this cute little cafe and was blown away on how cute the environment was with all the cow design. The most delicious tasting SuperBowl with a bread bowl of mountains of mouth watering tasty gravy and choice of topping on top. Such a great idea for a cute cafe, very friendly staff.

Come have fun learning to pan & sluice on our claim on the historic Woods Creek. Keep all of the gold that you find! Our private claim has not been mined by the public. The floods from this last winter has cleared new areas in the creek bed and moved a nice amount of gold we have been having some great luck this year. We accept groups up to 2 adults with 3 children, give us a call if there are more in your party. We are only a 5 mile detour on your way to or from Yosemite! This is a must on your Bucket List!

The wildflowers on this road in spring, are spectacular. Photographic opportunities are right off the road. There are also hiking trails. Areas on the offshoot loop do not say 4 wheel drive, but believe me you need one. There are a few species of plants that are found only here. Also, there is a fish that is quite endangered. The serpentine rocks are spectacular and glisten in the streams. There are a couple of rest areas with bathrooms and a few picnic tables. Great place to take a family trip.

Chicken Ranch Casino is nestled beneath Table Mountain in Jamestown, CA below the snow line of Gold Country, one hour from the Big Oak Flat entrance to the Yosemite National Park. Opened in 1985, Chicken Ranch Casino is a 24-hour 18 and over gaming destination with 600+ machines, Table Games, Bingo, two dining venues with machine side service, EV charging, pet area, and smoke-free gaming.
Ok, I've been goimg to Chicken Ranch since it was a warehouse..it's expanded twice now, with the old-time facade and now the separate Bingo hall. I love their machine selections and the addition of table games! I don't valet park but it's available now! They're more like a first-choice destination now, not just a stop on the way
