A showcase for talented young musicians from throughout the country.
Saw "A Flea in her Ear" Side-splitting fun comedy, French Flavor, slightly Risque, but absolutely well done. All student cast, great lighting and special/sound effects, such enthusiasm! Was performed at the Phoenix Theatre which is a small venue, but made for a very personal experience. Loved it!!!!! Had only been to summer concerts there but I will be watching for all future plays, top notch. Senior citizen price after all the fees was $16, not bad for a experience such as this.

Traverse Area Recreation & Transportation (TART) Trails is system of paved and dirt trails for walkers, hikers, bikers, skaters and skiers in Northern Michigan. Trails are open year-round and available for many users and uses. Many of the paved trails offer access to local breweries, wineries, coffeehouses, restaurants and other area attractions such as lakes, river and beaches. Many of the dirt trails offer world class mountain biking and hiking opportunities for users of various skill levels. Numerous area bike shops offer rentals for any type of technical or recreational riders. Dogs are also welcomed on the trails and must be leashed and cleaned up after.
My husband and I rode the Leelanau Bike Trail from Traverse City to Sutton Bay. We missed the turnoff from Traverse Bay up to the trail and ended up riding along the busy roadway until we figured it out (Thank You Google!). There is only 1 sign to direct you (from what we could tell) so be on the lookout for it. The rental bike company at Clinch Park offered little instruction. The trail travels through mostly farmland including vineyards, hops, and forests. The only water view is in Traverse City. Be aware that there aren't any places to buy water or snacks along the way so plan accordingly, especially if you plan to ride the whole 18 miles. Also, we planned to ride to Sutton Bay and take the bus back to Traverse City......unfortunately the website for pick up times was not up to date and we almost missed the bus.Thankfully my husband was able to flag the bus down and the driver let us on (otherwise we would have been forced to stay in Sutton Bay for another hour and a half.......or ride the 18 miles back to Traverse City!). Hopefully they have corrected the website but you may want to call to verify the correct times before venturing out. All in all it is a pleasant ride in the country.

Lake Ann Brewing Company specializes in craft beers as well as local ciders, mead, and wine. A casual, rustic "up north" tavern. Large outdoor patio, open weather permitting. Live music on Tuesdays year-round. Music on the patio during the summer months Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursdays (weather permitting). Full food menu from The Stone Oven restaurant right next door. "Great beer without the pomp and circumstance". Group events are welcome. We ask you to call a week in advance to ensure we can accommodate the group.
We live on Long Lake, just next door, and when we want to avoid the hustle and bustle of downtown TC, Lake Ann is the perfect place to go. The beer is delish, the severs are genuinely friendly, and you might just get a table...MoreYou were the first to have a table in the brew house (due to the rain)! Thanks for leaving a review and the great comments on the staff.

I've been going up here for over 25 years now. It's been through many changes since, but it's always felt like "home" to me. The park is beautiful, and despite budget cuts to the parks, it's always been clean. The store was a great addition to the pack several years back, but I'd love to see them offer more reasonable prices.

Old state asylum that is being renovated into shops, restaurants, wineries, and more...lots to look at, including tons of trails to walk, bike, ski, etc.
Joe Kilpatrick was was a great tour guide. He grew up in the area, so was knowledgeable about the history of the Traverse City State Hospital. The best kind of tour guide, who made the already great tour even more interesting.

Left Foot Charley is a winery like no other. In lieu of the single estate model, LFC is a collection of grape and apple growers located throughout Northern Michigan dedicated to growing fruit for our wine and cider. Located in the urban setting of the former Traverse City State Hospital campus known as The Village, LFC creates an array of balanced white wine, red wine, and hard cider. Every bottle tells the story of the farm, the vintage and the winemaker's dream of sharing it all with you.
We were referred to LFCharley’s by a friend who is a top Riesling wine maker in Oregon. We sampled several wineries in NW Michigan and liked this one the best. Meredith, our wine flight server, was very knowledgeable and pleasant. She had an answer for all our questions or quickly found an answer. We met Bryan, the owner/winemaker, who took the time to go over his process and wine philosophy. We loaded up on a good supply of his wine.
Didn’t try the cider, except Cinnamon Girl, which was excellent.
If you can only visit a few wineries, make this one a priority.

We've only attended a handful of events here at the park just because of our active lifestyle I guess but they have been very memorable experiences in the best way. The ballgames have been a treat. The park is very clean and open and very comfortable. There are plenty of types of seats from the bleachers out in the outfield to the grass out in center field to the nice seats in the stands nearer to home plate to the party tables we call them - high table with 4 high chairs that can be moved for more people. We have not yet experienced the suites or spending the nights but we're sure that would be great! We also have attended other functions in the park like a Christian prayer gathering, etc. The owners are very aware of the community's needs and they always rise to the occasion and host something. We are thankful for this park and the owners generosity! Please come and check it out - you'll love what you experience. Good food too! We love the mascots, Suntan and Sunburn...they always try to go out of their way to love on the kids and even us adults! There's a nice area beyond right field for kids - playground area. Very safe. Great parking.

We took a winery tour with Grand Traverse Adventure Co. Our tour guide was Chris and he was great! He gave interesting information, was very personable, and made the trip very enjoyable for us. I went with my husband and the tour guide took very nice photos of us at every stop and emailed them to us afterwards. The van had snacks and water which was great after three wineries! I highly recommend using them for a winery tour, they are reasonably priced and the van was clean and comfortable!
