There are many beautiful areas in Japan, but Monkey Rock is one of my favorites. The beauty here is in it's untouched majesty, it's quiet repose, and it's stunning views. The best way to enjoy Monkey Rock is to pack a lunch, bring a blanket, your camera and a good book, then just relax and spend the afternoon enjoying the breathtaking beauty of God's creation. You can hike around the area, but the best view is when you first drive up and see it. Stunning! Amazing! Many people drive up, jump out, take a picture and leave, but don't rush this, relax and take it all in! This is nature at it's best! (Note: There is a small gift shop in the parking lot, but if you want to eat, you need to bring your own picnic! Have fun! )

Iki city Ikikoku Museum

We went to museum because we had extra time before our ferry time. We paid for 400¥ for entrance. They show a short movie regarding ikikoku island. It is pretty small local museum. They have miniature of Ikioku village and villagers. That is the only thing to be interested in. This place is recommended to go if only you have extra time to kill.

Ikijima

It was an invitation by senior buddies rotary club of Iki City, who seemed curious and involved in the development of tourism of Iki island.
It's a wonderful Island, 2 days! really not enough to go, see and have relaxation time around. I recommend you at least 4 days. You'd better eat the specific beef of the place called Iki beef and the sea urchin, Uni which seems to be supplied to Tokyo too as a big demand. Lil expensive but worth eating as they are really delicious.

There's a beach where you can have Surfing tools and boating utensils in rent too. You can spent a whole day over there sunbathing and playing.
Monkey Rock, the rock which appears like Gorilla by side view, is an amazing attraction to see. For an instant I got suspicious if its man-made, but its entirely natural and its also a shock to know that it front view is like a normal rock standing over the beach.
There's bar and snacks too to spent relaxed over night. You should go and find more yourself. I think this Island worth visiting.

It is very beautiful beach with white sand. The water is very clear. You can see the group of small fishes swimming with you.
There are 3 beach houses. They have resting places which cost you around 1000¥ for each person and you can use the whole day. Each beach house has restaurant but expensive. Draft beer is 700¥ for normal size cup. There are two shops for water sports. Shower is 500¥ for one person, shampoo and soup is 200¥. It is 1000¥ to rent a swim ring.
But the beach is really really beautiful. It opens from 15th July to 31st August. I recommend to go there around 3rd or 4th week of August because the weather is not too hot.

In a country with so many people, this is a quiet vista where you can come, be alone and feel like you are in paradise. A short walk from the parking lot, and you feel like you are a million miles away from the world. The beauty is undescribable, and there is nothing more soothing then the sound of ocean waves beating upon the rocks below. If you come in Springtime, you can see the cormorants sitting on Sakyobana, but year round you can watch the crashing waves, the ships sailing across the horizon, and enjoy a peaceful repose beside the sea.

What a wonderful island! We visited here while staying on Iki Island - it was easy to access and so incredibly beautiful. We had 3 adults and 4 kids with us between the ages of 6 and 18...all had a blast snorkeling and hiking around this tiny island. There's a covered area to get shade along with drinks if you forget to bring your own. Beautiful, clear water to snorkel or just lie around in. Well worth the effort to get there.
