Well stocked with Atlantic salmon, brown and rainbow trout, the fishery's ponds guarantee your catch. There is no throwing back, so you keep what you catch and then buy the fish to take home, or have them prepared ready to barbecue on site. The park-like surroundings are peaceful with a nearby fairy fern glade walk.

The wines Kate Hill produces are truly stunning as is she as the winemaker. James Halliday gives this small winery 5 stars and it is truly deserved. Campbell Mattinson raves about Kate's 2016 Riesling (Halliday gives it 97/100) and her 2017 Riesling is just as scrumptious. Also try her Pinot Noir - and just about anything else that Kate has a hand in. If you don't stop off, try and buy her wines, you are missing something very special. Amazing stuff from a lady who is happy to have a lovely conversation with anyone who enjoys wine. We loved our stop off.

In the rustic surrounds of an original apple shed built in 1942, learn about the Huon's fascinating apple heritage told through the eyes of Willie Smith. A range of delicious ciders is available at cellar door and the café serves a simple menu of the finest regional products. A small providore will enable local producers an outlet in the Huon Valley where they can showcase their products and produce to visitors to the State.
Great place for a Sunday afternoon, or any other day for some great drinks, great atmosphere and great food. Love it.

Oldgrowth and Rainforest, Sub alpine heathland, a mountaintop and small waterfall. This track is well constructed and zig zags through the sometimes steep terrain. Most people with a moderate level of fitness will complete this walk in around 3-4 hours including breaks. Beginning at the car park at Huon Bush Retreats, the track climbs gently for about 15 minutes through young and old-growth forest to the rainforest viewing platform. A further 45 minutes steep climb up the escarpment cliffs takes you onto the sub-alpine heathland plateau and "Flat Rock". From here you can enjoy spectacular 360 degree views towards Bruny Island and the Southwest World Heritage Area. From Flat Rock it is a further 30 - 45 minutes along the plateau to Mt Misery summit. Return with optional side track to a small waterfall. Access to walking tracks is covered by your tariff if you are an overnight guest. For day visitors, we ask for a donation to contribute to maintenance of the tracks and roads.
A group of walkers (8) average age about 75 did the walk once again today. We keep coming back at least once a year. The owners should be congratulated on this wonderful reserve. It is obvious a lot of work has been done so that this beautiful place is accessible to all. Well done.
