Huaraz dates back to before the Incan Empire and is a great destination for travelers looking to combine cultural education with relaxation. Explore archaeological sites and the ancient stone monoliths at the Museo Regional de Ancash. Squeeze into narrow Duck Canyon or, for a challenge with a massively beautiful payoff, hike a mountain trail in Huascarán National Park.

The glacier is pretty majestic, walking is about an hour to the site, really good acclamitzation trip before any long hikes. Make sure you bring lots of water and coca leave teas to prevent headaches from altitude sickness!

Six of us used the walk as an acclimatisation day. The morning views with the cooler air are stunning. We were there in June and I would say its one of the easier panoramic viewpoints from Huaraz by collectivo or shuttle to the start of the trail.
