We visited without a guide but still enjoyed hanging out in this beautiful park and enjoying the scenery. A nice place where locals hang out in the day with very interesting plants and architecture. The artists and gardeners who have created this deserve a lot of credit, it was just a shame there was nowhere to leave a donation!

This is Huancayo's nicest plaza with the Cathedral anchoring one side and lots of benches to sit and people-watch. There are also several restaurants around the plaza. Across the street is Casa Artesana which is a collection of little shops selling inexpensive tourist items, some of which are very nice.

These formations are absolutely stunning. I would have liked to walk through them, but two locals stopped me while walking there and told me it was unsafe, that people get robbed. I'm not one to give in to fear, but I was bit too paranoid to walk down into the site by myself given these warnings. However it was great to walk up there and see the "torres" from above. Also interesting to walk through different parts of Huancayo to get there and get a glimpse of daily life.

Concentrate on the facade. The interior has been redone through the years--spartanly. Not ostentatious, nor colonial, nor hi-quality.
