Max Patch is about a 40 minute drive from Hot Springs, half of that traveled on a gravel road. We did the loop hike and it was an easy hike with an awesome view at the top. Would love to see the sunrise or sunset. You can camp overnight at the top.

Nice owners, clean place, and organized. You can walk to each sration or they have a few golf carts to rent. We used a gun stroller which worked well. The skeets were bright orange. The range is not in a field it is mingled among trees and hills. There are 11 stations. Ammo is a great price and to shoot is priced very reasonable.

Artisun Gallery & Cafe is home to many of the diverse and extremely talented artists of Hot Springs and Madison Co.. As you walk through the doors and feel the character of this old hardware store, built in the late 1800's, you’ll instantly recognize all the talents that make up the essence of the gallery. Our goal is to create an inclusive atmosphere that features and reflects our local creative artists, crafts people of all sorts. Many of our artisans display their work exclusively at ARTISUN, so you are sure to find many 'one of a kind' items while supporting local art! We also carry a wide range of great gift ideas along with Hot Springs and Appalachian trail themed items. While enjoying the gallery you may sip on an espresso, cappuccino, chai tea, hot tea, smoothie or even a glass of wine. We offer comfy places to sit and relax while surfing our free wireless internet. We proudly serve BeanWerks Coffee, Appalachai, Buchi Kombucha on tap and Ultimate Ice Cream. Only the best!
The heart of Hot Springs creative community beats here. If you are attracted to fine local art and other hand made items this place.is a must. We hiked Lovers Leap including the Pump Gap Loop while staying in Hot Springs for the week. The trailhead is steps from town right across the French Broad River. There are beautiful views and nice photo ops from the outcrop overlooking town. The Pump Gap Loop was challenging as the entire hike took us about 3 hours and we did it in counterclockwise fashion. The ridge line offers nice views. The trail is steep and rocky on the return. I would definitely recommend Lovers Leap to all visiting the area and the additional Pump Gap for an extra challenge, but maybe not for small children.

My husband, my pup and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit. In late October we found the trail absolutely beautiful. Almost flat, it runs along the river through private property (so stay on the allowed access trail) for about a mile before entering the Pisgah National Forest. There are plenty of spots to step down off the trail and access the river for a picnic.
