Margo Taussig Pinkerton (aka The Barefoot Contessa) and Arnold "Arnie" Zann, whose work is in museums and collections world wide, run Barefoot Contessa Photo Adventures, small, fun-filled, intensive photo workshops for those serious about their photography and who want to take their art to the next level. They really want you to spread out and find your own subject, not stand cheek by jowl with a gaggle of photographers recording the same, oft-rendered, same-old/same-old, postcard shot. They firmly believe in their tag line, "Seek your own vision, and create great photos!" Margo and Arnie are with you the whole time, whether in the field or in the classroom where they run daily critiques and suggest ways to finish realizing your vision through post-processing. They always stress creativity and aesthetics over techno-speak, and they want to send you home with the tools so that you can continue to grow as a photographer.

Hillsborough is the Triangle's oldest town. Over 260 years, a town can acquire quite a few ghosts.... We offer three different walking tours around the historic downtown area. Historic Ghost Tour In 1771, Enoch Pugh swung from the gallows in Hillsborough, and he has been hanging around (well, buried close by) ever since. Join Enoch for a 90-minute, 1.5-mile walk around downtown Hillsborough. As you visit more than a dozen stops, including haunted houses and the execution site, Enoch will describe real history, native and post-colonial legends, and numerous local "haints." 'Haints Misbehaving' Ghost Tour This two-hour tour focuses only on local ghost tales and legends ~ no colonial history. Some of the spooky tales are unique to this tour! 'Just Regulators' History Tour This 1.5-hour, day-time tour focuses only on events in Colonial Hillsborough history ~ no ghosts! Just real, well-researched stories of consequential events, where they actually happened!
