This park is packed with interesting activities, including a petting zoo, a beach, bike trails and picnic facilities.
This little park made up for my earlier disappointing visit to Florida's granddaddy Everglades when I visited Miami in Nov 2017. If it wasn't for Amelia, my whole trip would've been a disaster (just like the hurricane Irma) because Miami city is not really my cup of tea. The park is green, it has lakes that are clean, there are trails for walking in woods, horse stable, children play area with goats and most of all, for a city park it has plenty of wildlife. At one point I saw a big lizard coming out of public restrooms (maybe it was inspecting it for cleanliness) These little Komodo Dragons are all over the place and freely walking among chickens, goats and other water birds. It can easily be classified as a mini zoo plus a nature reserve. And its named after the Brave aviator Amelia Earhart who was the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic. What's not to like?
