We offer a 40 minute tour of the Silver Lake Sand Dunes. We have a vehicle that holds about 20 people that goes on a seven mile trail in the dunes. We stop at Lake Michigan or Silver Lake for a few minutes for pictures and to enjoy the view.
It's not a roller coaster ride, but some nice hills. Educational and fun. Worth the price of admission.

This is a state park along the coast of Lake Michigan located near Mears, Michigan. It includes shoreline along Lake Michigan and Silver Lake, along with many sand dunes.
The orv park is like nothing you can get in the Midwest. You feel as if you are in California or a different planet. It is truly like nothing else. There are so many places you can take your orvs from climbing tall dunes to going through tree areas with sand.

I have mixed reviews of the Dairy Industry in general. So, I am putting that out there first in my review. We learned some interesting facts on the tour. Our guide was knowledgeable. However, I think that the Dairy Industry capitalizes on the animals for profit. The heffers (old enough to be bred) are in one section, where they will inseminated. The pregnant females that are close to give birth are in a different section. The babies are taken from the mothers within 12 hrs of birth and are fed solid food pellets. So, that the mother cows are taken and milked. If the calves are male, they are raised and sold off for their meat or used for the meat in the store. The female calves enter the milk giving cycle when they are old enough to reproduce.
Is there milk? Is their ice cream? Cheese? Yes. Do you get a sample? Yes, at the end of the tour. Do you leave thinking how wrong it is that an entire animals life is given?
I did.
My children enjoyed seeing the animals, especially the babies. I however, was saddened by the entire experience. I gave up dairy. My husband could not even drink the chocolate milk sample.

We've been to this park many times but probably won't return because of the staff. Before, our encounters seemed like they really didn't like anyone using the park. But this time I really felt really uncomfortable. We had a large motor home and when we arrived for a day trip visiting the beach the RV parking spaces were either taken or too small. This was a Tuesday during the week and the parking lot wasn't close to being full so I parked across 3 spaces. Two staff members soon came over and first accused us if not having a pass, which was clearly on the windshield. Next they said we would have to leave because we were taking up too much room. What? So if we each came in separate cars and took up more parking spaces, that would be ok I guess.

The excitement of Silver Lake starts at Parrot's Landing, with recreational rentals for great family fun on the sand and water. Take on the Silver Lake Sand Dunes in a rugged Jeep, quad, or dune buggy. If you enjoy the water, ski or tube across the many nearby lakes while being towed by one of our ski boats. For even more action, launch a powerful Jet Ski Wave Runner into the waves of Lake Michigan.
We opted for the sunset tour as we earlier in the day took the Mac Woods Dune Ride and toured the Little Sable Point Lighthouse. This was one of my favorite things we did on vacation. Bill was our tour guide and he gave us a good time and taught us to safely drive on the dunes. I believe we paid around $175 for what was about an 90 minutes maybe a little longer cause Bill took us through the hills one last time after the sunset. He was a real talker and talked the whole time over the radios which each jeep comes with. He has many stories to tell. Would do this again if we go back but might include an hour of free time were we can drive without a guide.

Hart-Montague bicycle trail has entry points all along the route with adequate parking at all of them. The path was completely replaced and widened two years ago. It is a smooth, flat ribbon through countryside and quiet glens, beautiful in every season. There are small towns where you can stop to eat or rest. I recommend the Country Dairy between New Era and Shelby, around mile 9. The paved rideway and three degree incline make this a wonderful ride for training, families, or leisure riding.

A short (approx .5 mile) trail takes you through the hilly woods to the beach.
The topography is dominated by steep, wooded slopes. Mature beech-maple hardwoods near M-119 transition to mixed upland conifers near the water. The shoreline is sandy with rock and cobble in some areas as a result of the receded waterline. Much of the property is classified as “critical dunes” by the MDEQ. This is the largest remaining undeveloped and unprotected parcel on Lake Michigan in Emmet County. Located a short distance from Cross Village, this preserve offers community access to the beautiful Lake Michigan shoreline.

Rennhack's is a huge family farm located near Hart, Michigan. They have some of the best sweet corn I have ever tasted. Throughout the summer they feature freshly picked fruits and vegetables, mostly grown right there. They also have a gift shop area with local craft items. One of the biggest perks is the free samples they offer of the fruits. That way you can tell the sweetness and ripeness of the fruit before you buy it.

Silver Lake State Park is almost 3,000-acres along the Lake Michigan shoreline. This area includes both dune country and acres of mature forest and the only sand dune off-road vehicle area in east of the Mississippi River. Our 200 site campground is the only campground in the area that is located along the shoreline of Silver Lake.
Very nice campground. Great shower facilities. Need to make sure you reserve plenty ahead of time. Hard to get a site even early in the season.

Real life escape room challenges. 3 rooms to choose from; The Den, The Shop, or The Dorm Room. Rooms are designed for 1-6 people. Find clues, solve puzzles, and answer riddles to escape the room within an hour. Great for family bonding, a fun friends night/day out, and team building. Work together with your group to see if you have what it takes to not be BamBoozled. Open by appointment only.
I work with a team of 5 ladies. We were looking for a fun team building activity. This was perfect. It was the first time any of us had visited an escape room. The puzzles were difficult but do able. We worked to gether and had a great time. My family will be visiting soon to see if we can master one of the other rooms.
