Historic park that commemorates the scene of one of the bloodiest battles of the Civil War.
We visited here and found both the monuments and museum interesting. The docent was friendly and informative. The movie about the battle was a little long. The museum had some intersting interactive exhibits, note the attached photos. This place is so peaceful it is hard to imagine the bloody battle that took place here.

A Dollhouse Museum that is an amazing way to share social history. Study fashion, design, people, historic events from the 18th C. to the present, all in miniature with incredible life-like detail. Really enjoyed the settings that told us about Kentucky's history (Shakertown, underground railroad and the tobacco industry).

The Burgin Barn was the highlight of my trip! I was going to Kentucky with the idea that I wanted to hear some good old tyme country music and to play my fiddle with a country band! Well Tommy, the owner of the Burgin Barn made that happen! What a great place. It's a small place that probably seats about 100, with comfortable theatre like seating. If you show up around 6pm there is a "pot luck" spread put on that locals have all contributed too with sandwiches, salads, and Tommy (if you're lucky) has made his awesome Apple Dumplings (yummy). The show starts around 7pm (ONLY ON FRIDAYS) and includes the house band The Kentucky Strangers with guest performers that get up to perform. It will take you back to the old days when country music really sounded like country music! It's $10 to get in for a 2 - 3 hour show (and includes your dinner). And the people at the barn are very welcoming and so friendly! I think by the end of the night I had spoken to each of them! Definitely include this on your trip to Kentucky - it's a wonderful night! I can't wait to go back.

Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill is a landmark destination rooted in the spirit of the Kentuckians that called this place home for more than a century. Discover inspiring legacies, fresh-air adventures and spirited hospitality throughout Shaker Village's 3,000 acres. Onsite amenities include overnight accommodations, dining and catering services, retail shops, historical exhibitions and tours, a farm and garden area, a nature preserve, multi-use trail system, riverboat rides, equestrian stable and an extensive calendar of special programs, activities and events.
Almost all of the buildings were closed to tourists. Most of them had signs indicating they were only for overnight guests. A couple of the larger buildings, like the meeting house, were closed for renovation. I've been to several historical villages, and this was probably the least interesting. We did have a nice lunch there though. They have some gift shops also. But for the most part, this was a complete waste of time.

My husband and I visited the Fort at around 11 am in October. Even though there were two hundred school children having a tour at the same time it was very well organized. Each area had a very knowledgeable guide telling stories of a person in history or showing the skills of survival for the time period. We either had an individual talk or we listened in on one of the school groups.

Come see us for all of your fall family fun! Each admission includes 10 acres of corn mazes, hayrides, pick your own pumpkins(includes a great pumpkin!), Kids activities, & petting area. Great place for school groups, church outings and birthday parties. Want to add a little adventure? Try our Zip Line Racers! Come back Halloween weekend for the "Field of Horror".
My youngest daughter started kindergarten this year and her very first field trip was to Devine's. We had never been here before but were looking forward to it. The parking is typical for pumpkin patches, gravel or grass but we were able to park fairly close because the they were closed to the public for this event. There was only one other small daycare of class in addition to our county's students. Everything here is directed more towards smaller children and children under 10. There is a large slide but has two sets of walkways to get to the top and many children were pushing kids out of the way due to the fact that there was no employees on hand to ensure that kids were following the rules. The small corn maze is great for preschoolers and the larger corn maze, although daunting to look at online, was quite easy and took us aproximately 15 minutes to navigate. The food is great with hot dogs, burger, chips, pop, hot apple cider, and candy. The lines can get quite long and there is not nearly enough tables for people to sit and eat. It is best to eat before or after the noon lunch rush. Now for the biggest downside, the pumpkins we picked were starting to rot just 3 days after picking them and we even cleaned and coated it to try to preserve it. The pumpkin selection is minimal and most are identical is size and shape. I would rather find a roadside stand that a farmer has with pumpkins than get them here again. Overall it was a good day and our little one truly enjoyed all the fun things that were just her size.

While spending the day at Shaker Village, my daughter and I realized that if our lunch at The Trustees' Table didn't take too long(separate review), we could make the riverboat ride to end our wonderful day. The staff at The Trustees' Table was happy to accommodate so we could maximize our experience.
The ride down the river was so relaxing and entertaining. The captain of the boat was hilarious and imparted great information, peppered with jokes delivered perfectly in a delightful southern accent. The views were terrific and it was an ideal way to end our day at Shaker Village.
There is so much to do and see, we wished we had another day or two to spend there.

Party on Air is on the cutting edge of new inflatables! My kids love to visit during open bounce and have been to countless wonderful birthday parties. The owners care about their customers and go out of their way to make it a positive experience for parents and children. Most importantly they clean the inflatables daily!
