Scenic park along the Buffalo River.
We visited the Tyler Bend visitor center last week and were impressed with the visitor center and the beautiful area. However, the staff was the unfriendliest park staff I have ever encountered at any NPS site. There were two rangers standing in a back room talking when we arrived, and one came out to stand behind the counter with arms folded. We attempted a little discussion with her but got little response. We walked around the interesting visitor center but felt like we were intruding on her time, and after a couple of minutes we left. Contrast this to the great engaging staff at Arkansas Post and Pea Ridge. Still, the river itself is beautiful and interesting.

A pleasant journey underground with fun guides. The tour groups are small, so one can actually hear guides & ask questions. A very satisfying experience and great for young children as well as adults. A nice activity in concert with the Buffalo National River stops...MoreThank you for your kind words!

This is a fairly large cemetery that is extremely well kept and far enough removed from traffic that it's an ideal place for morning walks in the warm weather and positively serene in the fall.

We found this cave by accident at 6 in the morning on a Sunday! We weren't sure what we would find when we followed the signs, but it was very neat! The owner was very good to us despite us waking him up so early. He let us tour the caves alone which was so fun. The entrance has a waterfall over it and it's beautiful and the cave was spectacular. The walkways were in need of attention in a few spots but overall it was very nice for a privately owned cave. And the dog was so friendly! Loved the experience!

Come jump into fun at Bounce Mania. We have bounce houses for the very young to the very young-at-heart. Even the parents can join in on the fun! Children can bounce, jump, and play all day regardless of the weather all just for the price of admission. * Socks Required * We have party rooms available for rent and are open for anyone and everyone to walk-in and play during business hours. Also Bounce Mania is available to open on days/hours that we are closed for Private Parties.
We had a birthday party for my son and enjoyed every second! The staff was amazing! The atmosphere was wonderful and really geared for kids to have fun. To top it all off, the place was super clean (hard to find with kid venues) and was affordable! My kids can't wait to go back-and the truth is-I can't either! I highly recommend Bounce Mania!

This whole area---the Collier Homestead and the state park---are great to visit and explore. Your first stop should be the modern Visitor Center which is well designed and upscale in appearance, with beautiful wooden decks and walkways leading you to wonderful overlooks of the area.
The attractive gift shop is amply stocked with nature-themed items. Here you will find tee shirts, caps, books and various gift ideas.
There are a number of walking paths in the area including one leading toward the Collier Homestead. Beautiful forests and the amazing Buffalo River are nearby.
This is a wonderful area for camping, having fun and making memories, and I recommend you drop by and enjoy the great American outdoors.

My wife and I love couples massages when traveling and can find them. We picked Peaceful after we visited the place and spoke with the owner. We had a 1.5 hour couples massage with paraffin foot therapy. I had been having problems with my right leg nerves and could not sleep at night. After 30 minutes of massage therapy on my right hip and leg, my problems have gone away.....4 weeks later and still great. We have had couples massages all over the world and Peaceful ranks as being the best or at least in the top 3! We will return when visiting the area next time.

You can tell that the owners take good care of Lovejoy Collectibles. It is neat and well-kept, and the various items for sale are well arranged and clean. There are some true antiques and some flea-market type items, but regardless of your taste in collectibles, you will have fun in this store.
There are dolls, kitchen items, furniture, décor, seasonal items and much more.
My wife and I purchased a small wooden bench on which to place small flower pots and collectibles. It should look good in our kitchen.
You will love this place and all the love, TLC and sense of organization that goes into it. The owners and management are to be commended.

As a local , I've ridden this and all the other great roads we have to offer. The Moonshine run incorporates some part of the best scenic and famous areas around.
First you have the legendary Scenic hwy 7s that will take you past the old Dogpatch theme park, cross the buffalo river and get a picture of the old steel truss bridge before its torn down in the next 3 yrs, then stop off in Jasper at the famous Ozark Cafe. (NOW THIS IS MY TWIST OFF THE MOONSHINE...INSTEAD OF TAKING HWY74 CONTINUE ON 7S FOR 9 MILES) Leaving Jasper you'll stop at the Arkansas Grand canyon overlook and just 1 miles past there you will take a left onto Hwy374 to Vendor this will connect you to Hwy 74 to Mt.Judea(pronounced Judy) Here you will connect to Hwy 123, "THE Arkansas Dragon" exercise caution here with 180 degree switchbacks , 10mph corners and wildlife(deer) Stop at an unmarked paved pull off to view "Sams Throne". After connecting back to hwy7n you'll go to Hwy 16, "The Arkansas Toothpick" one of the most underrated roads in the state. it literally cuts across the backbone of the mountian ridges with awesome sweepers and beautiful scenery. It have jcts. that connect you to all the other great rides along it path. Getting off 16 and onto Hwy 21 at Edwards Jct (not marked as such) you'll head down to the Beautiful and famous Boxley Valley on the Buffalo river. Lost Valley trail is an easy well maintained hike if you want a side trip, and keep an eye out for Elk grazing in the fields along the river. You can stop at Ponca by the old and new bridges , this is the headwaters for most float trips and also stop in at the Ponca store for refreshments and info on the area( Gas too if you need it ) Now for the last leg, hwy 43.... I call it the home stretch because I live just off 43, climbing up out of Ponca you'll get back up on the mountain ridge and be greeted with scenery and awesome sweepers for the next 20 miles before returning to Harrison..
Enjoy and be safe my friends!!

Growing up in this area, you can recall the Lyric Theater and all the good times. With several things happening there now, these good times can once again become part of my child's memory.
