Harpenden is a town in the St Albans City district in the county of Hertfordshire, England. The town's population is just under 30,000. Harpenden is a commuter town, with a direct rail connection through Central London and property prices well over double the national average. Harpenden Golf Club, founded in 1894, is a private members club of approximately 800 members. Messrs Frederic G Hawtree and John Henry Taylor were engaged to design and build a challenging 18 hole course in about 150 acres of rolling Hertfordshire countryside. Visitors are welcome during the week and by arrangement at weekends and Bank Holidays.

Fabulous summer walk today along the Nickey line, along with several other paths and tracks that I couldn't name! The surface was hard and dry, the scenery excellent and the weather extremely kind. Already planning our next trek here!

Our golf course is played on a wonderful mixture of well-manicured common parkland lined with both mature trees and gorse and has been awarded the prestigious National Green Flag.We have a brand new clubhouse opened in 2013 which offers bars and dining facilities.Visitors are welcome at most times subject to availability.
One visit to this lovely club showed me how extraordinarily friendly everyone was. The warmth of the welcome I got left me in no doubt that this was the perfect club for me to join which I did in January 2020 and have loved every minute of it.

Fantastic Location. The dinner was excellent with fantastic views all round. Highly recommended. The bar round to the side was handy for watching the Football as well.

I've been going here since I could walk and have so many happy memories related to it. The park itself is lovely with a playground area for kids and lots of room to have a picnic. Then you have the river with its bridges, waterfalls, stepping stones and lovely wildlife. It's just the right depth for paddling, very clean and great for catching tiddlers too if you take a net. At the top of the hill is little corner shop next to the small car park that sells just about everything, including ice creams, and there are 3 or 4 great pubs within short walking distance as well as a great fish and chip shop. I also recommend walking down the river towards Wheathampstead to see all the old buildings and the ford.

Me and 3 friends enjoyed a lovely roast dinner following the reopening of the inside of pub last weekend. The food was fantastic (in particular the roast potatoes and big Yorkshire pudding!) and the service was amazing as always. We always enjoy popping in for a beer or enjoying the food. The COVID-19 measures are all being implemented well and everyone else in the pub was following them too, making for a comforting experience.
