I have long wanted to reach St. Anne's Lake. A place of special beauty, the only volcanic lake in Romania, located near the resort Tusnad. The shape of the lake resembles the palette of a painter, and the water of the lake is of a very high purity, close to distilled water. People also come on pilgrimage and pray at the stone chapel, it is said that St. Anne helps young people to find their mate.

Wish I had more time to spend there and admire the canyon and be better equipped for that place so we can walk on foot for awhile, not just stop then continue. We travel East to West in the middle of the day. If you like sunrise or sunset you should try to be there for those, I'm sure it will be spectacular. .

The Cistercian Abbey of Carta is placed in the Carta village. It can be easily reached from DN1 (Braşov - Sibiu) by following the indicators. The abbey is unique in Romania and the easternmost one in Europe. It was built around 1220 by Cistercian monks. You can visit the monastery ruins, which represent a really peaceful place. Between the old walls of the original church there is a small cemetery of German soldiers from the First World War. The choir from the original monastery is now transformed in a small but very nice church. In the nearby of the ruins there is a museum, an info point and a restaurant with good food and prices. Carta Cistercian Abbey is a must-see place when you visit Transylvania or Sibiu area.

We decided to spend a vacation in Harghita county in Odorhei. We arrived and stayed at a beautiful pension, located 1.5 km from the city, in a wonderful place with orchard and a lot of peace - Pava Pension. After serving a delicious lunch we started our adventure. We visited the Mini Transilvania Park, where you can see all the fortresses, castles and churches in Transylvania in miniature, in the form of models. Superb works made with care and patience by real artists. Odorheiul Secuiesc is a small, clean and beautiful town full of welcoming people. If you are lucky enough to visit it, you will be pleasantly surprised to taste the traditional cuisine and to admire the wonderful places near the city.

Using the experiences lived with the periodic butterfly house from Odorheiu Secuiesc, we opened the first permanent butterfly house in Romania, at Praid, Harghita County, on the spring of 2012. The building, created for this very purpose, is divided into two parts and is house to a reception area that communicates with a gift shop and to a so called "flying space" with a tropical microclimate that
A wonderful place to visit. There are many butterflies and birds and turtles and at the entrance you can buy soda

So the red lake is this awesome paradise-like looking pond of water, with tree trunks popping out of the water to form a dramatic scenary - add to that the mountain cliffs towering above and you get a jaw dropping corner of the country! oh yeh, almost forgot - and you can take a boat ride!

Just across the street from the city hall, you can find a beautifully restored Renaissance influenced castle. It looks more like a fortress and it really is a keep for numerous really good exhibitions, includind specialised show-ups about life in traditional Szekely villages, popular dresses, tools, a very nice interactive multimedia exhibition about the history of the castle itself, another splendid exhibition about the history of book printing and ancient prints, etc. Very nice and very reasonable entrance fees. Well worth the time spent there!
