Loved visiting this museum in historic Guthrie. Great territorial architecture with tin ceiling and old-time soda fountain. Wonderful collection of old bottles, medicine, equipment & photographs. Definitely recommend stopping in when you’re nearby & also check out the apothecary garden outside with plants and herbs complete with signs explaining what their medicinal properties ????

There has been a novel published recently which takes place in 1899 Guthrie. When you read the novel and walk the streets of the town, you can see the accuracy of the town's description. "The Canary Cage" is a real depiction of the activities in the town around the turn of the 20th century. the Characters are fiction, but the town is real. Scenes of many movies are shot in this town, because of it's historical buildings. "Rain man", "Twister" and others have scenes from this town. Had a great two day stay here. Plenty of history.
