Rani Ki Vav is the oldest and the grandest stepwell in the state of Gujarat. It is situated at Patan and is believed to have been built during 1022 to 1063 AD. The construction was completed by the widowed queen Udayamati. She was the wife of King Bhimdev I, son of Mularaja, the founder of the Solanki dynasty of Anahilwada Pattan. It is a richly sculptured monument and a major tourist spot in Patan. The size of the Rani Ki Vav is so huge that the tourists appear to be ants climbing an anthill.
We visited this magnificent step well, which is more than 100km from Ahmedabad. The multi-storeyed structure dating back around 11th century requires climbing down through steps from ground level to go around each storey supported by stone pillars. We could go only two levels as it was difficult. It is not advisable for those having knee/ back problems to go down. Those who can climb down will get a marvelous sight of sculptures. However, we went around the boundary along the ground to reach the opposite side where we could get a view of the bottom of the well having water. Rani ki vav is too big when compared to adalaj step well we saw near Ahmedabad. This awe inspiring step well has found a place in one of the recent Indian currency note

Weekends can get crowded , so best to come on any other day.The ticket cost Rs. 200 And it includes a complimentary audio tour guide in either english , hindi & marathi.Photographs inside the palace are not permitted. The tour takes about an hour. Water & other cold beverages are available at a charge for visitors
Lukshmi Vilas Palace, the largest private residence in India, is grand, awe-inspiring, and beautiful. The architecture is a fantastic exposition of Indo-Saracenic architecture; the grounds and carved-out sections like the golf course immaculate; and the collection of art and artefacts exquisite, even by royal standards. A special call out to the collection of Raja Ravi Varma's works, which is the largest at any single place. And another one to the armoury, which has a the best collection of swords I have seen. The museum has audio guides, which makes the experience of visiting the palace much richer. Essential visit while in Baroda. Keep 2-3 hours aside for it.

Thanks to Narendra Modi who developed the riverfront when he was Gujarat CM. It was a dirty drain and the riverbanks were dens of criminals and anti-socials. Today, this is where hundreds head to for their monring and evening walks, and to soak in the beauty of the surroundings. The restoration of the river and development of the riverfront by Modi is a true and ladting tribute to Gandhiji

Wave pool is clean and flooring well maintained. Music is loud and worth it with good song choices. Crowd in pool is decent. Electronic timer tells you the time remaining for next wave which is every hour. This is followed by a trip to the rain dance area which is great too. Good water force. Great room facilities available for couples also. Good and quality food available.
