Galilee Yacht is the first sailing vessel on the Sea of Galilee. The first “green” commercial boat to sail on the lake, it is the only vessel for FITs - couple and small families - looking for a special enchanted experience away from mass tourism. All the yacht’s paints are non-toxic and engine is electric and clean Galilee Yacht: A privet, relaxing sailing experience.

Stopped by here on our travels in Israel and was blown away by the story of the buildings design as well as the artifacts contained with the walls. Well worth the time and effort to stop here. Will return again.

Also known as "The Jesus Boat", this is an interesting visit where you can also depart on a modern-day Jesus Boat experience upon the Sea of Galilee. Discovered in 1986 by two brothers walking the shore of the Sea of Galilee (also Sea of Gennesaret or Lake Kinneret), the remains of a 2,000 year old fishing boat were discovered, lodged in the mud, revealed by low water levels during a severe drought. This 27 foot long vessel was lovingly protected as it was gingerly lifted from its marine burial site. Housed within a modern facility, operated on a Kibbutz, you can grab a refreshment or snack at this establishment. Watch the informational video of rescuing and preserving this ancient fishing vessel before viewing this remarkable, ancient relic.

AKA the “Jesus Boat,” the ancient Galilee Boat is a fishing vessel from 2,000 years ago, discovered in 1986 on the northwest shore of the Sea of Galilee, which is really a huge freshwater lake that is the headwater of River Jordan. It was discovered by amateur archaeologist brothers Moshe and Yuval Lufan, fishermen fromn Kibbutz Ginnosar. Keep in mind that the current lake/sea level is several hundred feet below what it was two millennia ago. The boat is 27 feet long (the length of my living room), 7½ feet wide, and a height of 4.3 feet. There is no connection between the boat and Jesus, but the name—perhaps as a tourist magnet—Jesus Boat stuck. It’s doubtful that Jesus and disciples manned this boat, but it signifies the fishing vessels that he and other would have used centuries ago.
