A huge thank-you to Fiona and her team for offering such superb service! As a local, I feel incredibly lucky to have such high quality products available nearby. I've "explored" more than 25 of their amazing olive oils and balsamic vinegars and always look forward to spending time in the store with their knowledgeable staff. We are currently in the midst of Covid-19, practising social/physical distancing. In typical Sunshine Coast Olive Oil Co. style - they have stepped up by offering on-line/over the phone ordering for either drive-by pick up or free delivery on the Coast. How wonderful to have received my oils and vinegar at my door within hours of ordering!! Thank-you, thank-you for all you do!

Nicholas Sonntag Marine Education Centre (NSMEC)

The Nicholas Sonntag Marine Education Centre (NSMEC) is a unique collect and release aquarium located inside Gibsons Public Market in the seaside town of Gibsons, BC. The Sonntag Centre houses 30 exhibits displaying natural habitat and local marine fish and invertebrates from the waters of the Howe Sound. This includes interactive touch tanks and scavenger hunts! The animals are collected by our team of professional SCUBA divers. The animals are then housed in the Centre for 6-18 months, depending on the species, and released back to the ocean with help from the entire community. Displays are always changing, allowing the diversity of the marine life we have in the Howe Sound to shine. We host formal education programs with schools, run summer camps and bring in experts to deliver engaging presentations on ocean topics. Come visit us soon!

Georgia Beach

Reviewed By Ourturntotravelnow - Roberts Creek, Canada

Located in the "Bluff Area", just minutes from the Gibsons Marina & markets, this little beach is a well-kept secret by locals and an idea spot for a romantic picnic with your signifigant other (or bring the kids!) We often stop at one of the eateries on nearby Gower Point Road and pick-up a fresh made sandwich or decadent dessert to take with us and enjoy some quiet time at the picnic table, looking over the quiet ocean waters (evening time you can watch the boats returning to harbour as the sun sets...) With the car windows down and Andre Bocelli or Eva Cassidy softly playing on our car system (be respectful of the local neighbours and don't play loud music,,,) we sit at the table and maybe share a little wine with our picnic meal (I know it's not legal in BC to consume alcohol in public, but we've been to England where you can consume a glass of wine in their local parks, so why not, if it works there just do so responsibly) and be sure to clean up your refuse and take it away with you when you leave. Enjoy.
