Experience prison conditions of the past in two unique prison buildings. Follow history from the old castle jail with its underground dungeons, dating back to the mid-1600s, to one of Sweden’s first penitentiaries, dating from 1847. You will witness the Swedish prison system, which developed from a period of public enforced shame and corporal punishment to a time when prisoners were isolated from society in what we now call solitary confinement. A visit to the Prison Museum leaves no one unaffected. When you visit the museum, borrow an audioguide in english or german for free!

Wow, such a great experience! We ended up here by accident, but it was a happy accident. They have designed the park really well, you walk along a wooden path through the animals natural habitat. All Nordic, local animals combining both their beauty and preserving an understanding of animals from and living in the region. They have small cottages along the way where you can start a fire (they leave wood for you) and you can bring food and / or grill hot dogs. Such a nice add! Loved it and would highly recommend it to couple and / or families visiting the area.

We visited this park and zoo while staying in Sweden with family. There is parking a short walk away and reasonable charge for a whole day. Seemed expensive to get into the park as the swimming area wasn't open for the season but there was no discount which was disappointing. However the park in well laid out and there is plenty to see. Toilets throughout the park as well as food and drink outlets. We would recommend taking a picnic as prices were high as you would expect inside a park. Rides were extra unless you purchased a wrist band and no queues when we visited. Great place for a day out in good weather.
