Garden City’s main attraction is the beach. Grab a boogie board and body surf on the waves, or build sand castles with the kids. For more exciting water fun, you can drive up the road to visit Myrtle Waves, a large water park with fun water slides and a lazy river. Adventurous adults can try parasailing above the ocean, and then relaxing with a fishing pole on the pier.There are so many things to do on the Grand Strand. Myrtle Beach has a new boardwalk and attractions including a giant Ferris wheel. You can visit Ripley's Believe It or Not museum and see the oddities, play in an arcade game, or get a hot dog from Peaches Corners. If you travel to Broadway at the Beach, you have a wide choice of restaurants including Margaretville, owned by Jimmy Buffett. There is also mini golf, a movie theater, and countless shops. Seafood is the order of the day in the Grand Strand and one of the finest seafood restaurants around is located right in Garden City, maybe even in walking distance of your vacation rental. Sara J's is located right on the marsh, and if the weather is good, you can enjoy your meal outside on the deck. Love the small town 'beachy' atmosphere of the pier and surrounding area, only a few miles south of the commercial, touristy Myrtle Beach. We enjoyed both environments on different days. In response to "moochtn"...If you are serious about only wanting rest/relaxation, we stayed just a mile north at the Holiday Inn, right on the beach. It was quiet and relaxing. At night all we heard was the waves spilling onto the beach. There is a pool, hot tub, and fire pit area. Very romantic evening lighting. I believe we heard the faint booming of the fireworks, down the beach at the pier, but not obtrusive by any means. It did make us curious to find out what was going on...especially after all that 'rest and relaxation' ...know what I mean?

Staff (guessing most are retired golfers) were extremely pleasant, helpful and friendly. The course was well maintained and an interesting and fun par 3 and par 4 with plenty of water and sand hazards. Highly recommended if you need to work on your short game. Restrooms were clean and well kept. Plentiful wildlife and birds.

Great fun for the entire family, we have two challenging 18 hole mini golf courses. Your adventure will take you around waterfalls and streams, over bridges and through caves. Come on out and play them both!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our family outing at Gilligans Island Mini Golf. The staff was very good with the pre-k kids with us. The course is older but maintained. We will definitely go back.
