Took in the Championship Race. The track has lots of pre race and post race entertainment. Bellator held a free event with Rampage and Hendo in attendance. The pit pass is like no other race track, you get complete access to all parts of the track and pits. The Fan Zone is the best of any race track as well. A complete fan experience.

There are 4 entrances to the everglades national park. This one has some great short trails, including the anhinga which has lots of gators. The mahogany trail had some hurricane damage but is still fascinating. If you are lucky, you might glimpse an owl. The waterways have canoe and kayak trails leading to backcountry camping on lovely islands and chickees but require permits.

Whether you're coming from or going to the Florida Keys or taking a rewarding day trip from the Miami area, Florida Keys Outlet Center is a superb destination for outlet shopping. The center is conveniently located off the Florida Turnpike & US-1 on the only route to the Keys.
Small shopping outlet with limited stores. Great location since it doesn't get busy like other outlets. You can find good sales prices. So if you're looking for a lot of stores then you might want to check out their web site to see what stores they have. Again very small outlet. A little busy on the weekends and pay day. Best shopping days on the week days.

We bought the large bag of quality lettuce and it was only $1.75. There are separate lines for produce, bakery and the ice cream shop. Milk shake was just OK. The ones at Phil's Berry Farm down the road are much better.

The original center of the National Park with an abundance of trees and nature.
We made this our first stop into the Everglades. Luckily there were park rangers here who explained that the blue tarps and bungee cords are a must. Cover your vehicle. The vultures will peck at any rubber exposed on your automobile. Especially vulnerable is windshield wipers and window molding. Once this was done it was off to the trails. Excellent boardwalk and trail to walk. Watch out for crocodiles. The wildlife to see is plentiful and the scenery is awesome.

We like to say that Everglades City may have the name but we have everything else! Located in Florida City just 10 miles from the main entrance of the Everglades National Park. Tours in the Glades offers Guided Everglades Tours of all kinds. Full Day Tours, Morning Tours, Afternoon Tours and Night Walks. Sightseeing, Paddling with canoes or kayaks. Wet Walks or "Slough Slogs" as the locals say in the Cypress Domes. Alligator Watching, Bird watching and more.We also offer canoe rentals and all the info for a self guided tour. The national park service chose the East Coast for the main entrance for its unique opportunity to see 9 eco-systems in one day. We have 7 canoe trails from marine estuaries in Florida Bay to old moonshiner trails in the red mangrove. 6 biking trails through the Rock Pineland, Dwarf Cypress and sloughs and coastal marsh prairies. Hiking trails and easy boardwalks, overlooks and paved trails make a great day for all types of adventurers!
Had the best day kayaking the mangroves, exploring the Ahinga trail and slogging through the marsh with Jeremy Bishop. Jeremy is knowledgeable and competent and we felt safe and cared for all day with each activity. The pick-up and drop-off at the Hostel, the transportation, the logistics of hauling kayaks and lunch were a flawless operation. I especially liked the stop at the fruit stand for those smoothies. Mmmm Good.

This park offers a TON of info about all different types of fruits, spices, their uses and benefits, as well as how to incorporate them into your life. But unless you take the tram tour, you won’t learn these things. The walking trail is very nice and the park has done a great job of labeling the trees, but the tram guides are incredibly knowledgeable and go way beyond what the tree is and where it’s from. We smelled and tasted many different leaves and fruits and it was a very enjoyable adventure. I learned I like papaya, but the seeds are much too peppery and that I could sniff the leaf of bay rum all day long. Lol
If you’re adventurous and are not on a tight time frame...this is fun.

Boardwalk trail through the "watery grass".
I was hoping to see the swaying grasses in the river, sort of like watching Gentle Ben when I was a kid. But I guess the years of stealing the water and diverting it to Miami and other large cities along with the long drought has made it look more like a flat African prairie. Interesting to see, but not awe-inspiring. :(
