Pristine environment from the clean beaches with crystal clear water lapping on orange lichen covered rocks, remains of jetty at Lillie’s Beach, Port Davie rock formations and caves, muttonbird rookery and aboriginal historical sites. Certainly worth a look.

Strzelecki National Park

Reviewed By sixwalters - Sydney, Australia

If you like climbing things, being amazed by scenery and changing layers of flora and vegetation, then go to Strezlecki National Park and climb the mountain. There is some scrambling up to top which is a little challenging on descent too, but it took our fairly fit family aged 12- 47 2 hours to ascend then 2 hours to descend this beauty. Make sure you head out early to avoid cloud cover on the summit, and bring plenty of water and snacks. If climbing is not your thing, then you can enjoy the beautiful beaches in the park below.

Was rapt to get to the Purple Swamphen after planning my trip to Flinders for some months. Bought some lovely little souvenirs for myself and presents for family, have enjoyed unpacking them all tonight at home ???? The staff are really knowledgeable about the island and of course I have to mention the baby wombats - highlight of my trip ???? There’s opportunity in the shop to donate to help support these little orphans too. Thankyou!

Walkers lookout

Not far off the main road and there are great 360 degree views. If you stand on the picnic table the view is even better. Unless you are prepared to climb for an hour up and an hour down Mt Killiecrankie or 2 hours up and 2 hours down Mt Strzelecki it is the best viewing point you will get on Flinder's Island
