You just need to have the fall experience here. From wagon rides into the fields to pick your own (several pick-your-own options) to pumpkins to wines to the best cinammon donuts and apple cider to just being around people - lots of families - enjoying the experience. My wife and I (along with her daughter with whom she has been visiting here for 30+ and son in law) make this an annual "must do" event.

Cider Mill in Autumn – what a winning combination - While visiting family in Brighton, Michigan we decided to take a short ride to the Parshallville community in Livingston County where we located the North Ore Creek and pulled up to Tom Walker’s Grist Mill – otherwise known as Parhsallville Cider Mill. An 136 year-old historic water-powered mill with plenty of parking surrounded by a beautiful park-like setting and lots of large shade trees/greenery as well as a secure wooden bridge and views of the sparkling waterfall complimented the Grist Mill’s old-world charm with a historical reminder of a time when water power was common. A long railed-wooden porch and entry way takes you back in time – wood everywhere – floors, walls, partitions, very high wooden peaked ceiling and hanging tools from the past for visual effects. Ceiling fans were in overdrive as freshly-made donuts were being prepared, displays of freshly-baked apple pies (two-crust or crumbled), iced breads, and preserves we abound. Our first goal was to order hot cider which had a clean fresh flavor that will remain with me for a long time and it was comfortably hot. Our second goal was to purchase an apple pie for our gracious hosts who had invited us for dinner that evening (we purchased the two-crust option) and our third goal was to purchase and bring home to our families Historic Parshallville Cider Mill 1869 preserves – I purchased the Peach Spread. My purchases brought back wonderful youthful memories of my paternal grandmother and maternal grandparents – #1. PIES: My paternal grandmother was famous for her pies and the Parhsallville Cider Mill apple pie was a hit – incredibly flavorful, with a crust that reminded me of pies from my childhood. #2. Preserves – my maternal grandparents had a suburban backyard peach tree that according to my mother originated from a peach pit which was planted in their backyard when she was a young girl. This matured peach tree annually blossomed lots and lots of peaches that in-turn were made into the family’s peach preserves every fall. In summary, Tom Walker’s Grist Mill – otherwise known as Parhsallville Cider Mill is a must-see – family members visibly work tirelessly at this site – we were introduced to one of the owners – Mrs. Walker and one of the young family members – A visit to this cider mill may bring back childhood memories and create new memories well into the future.
