As a family, we enjoyed a vacation in this mountainous area. Plenty to do and see. There's caves, Waterfalls, natural Springs, and short trips in the surrounding Mountains that are really beautiful. We also visit the Royal Agricultural Project. If you like fresh air and mountain views, you'll enjoy the area.

Such a beautiful place! Great way to spend a day here; lots of things to see, especially what Thailand can produce.
One thing that let me down here was the restaurant; quite expensive comparing to those at the market (in front of the station) and the service was quite slow. But the food was not too bad thought.

We were here midweek in November and the place was virtually empty. The setting in itself is very attractive, quite wooded and forest just a little further upstream, interesting rock formations and then the geyser itself and the occasional hot Springs stinking of sulphur.
The private cabin was spotless and quite adequate, half an hour is enough to relax the body...and soul! Lunch at the grill a little higher uphill was simple but tasty and cheap. We sat at a table outside with the bubbling of a fast running stream, the only ones around and felt pretty happy with the world.

We have visied numerous other Royal Garden projects throughout Thailand and this one in Angkhang was absolutely one of the most magnificent garden parks that we have experienced! The grounds are extensive and require a car to drive to all of the various locations of the park. Some of the garden displays are so exquisite and carefully manicured and cultivated by the garden workers. A short drive to another nearby mountain vista reveals an incredible mountainside terraced Gardens of tea plants. The park fees are also moderate at 50 baht per car and 50 baht for each person.

Would you believe that the temperature of Doi Angkhang fell near freezing point at certain time of the year? We love the place and found various occasions to come up here throughout the past ten years. Beside the weather, we came for the fresh air and different vegetation and flora up in this mountaintop resort. But one other factor that always remind us is the amount and level of effort the present King contributed to the residences of the area. How he single-handedly converted the local opium industry to other crops successfully? Writing this review give me the urge to return to Doi Angkhang again.

This is a great off-the-beaten-track mountain and forest hiking area on the Myanmar border in the very north of Thailand. A dirt road leads most of the way up the mountain to a camp area from where a narrow trail can be hiked in about one hour to the summit.
For nature lovers and hiking enthusiasts I recommend a longer stay in these Mountains at Doi Pumuen Homestay in a Lahu hill-tribe village located at an elevation of about 1,300 meters near the national park. Tea, coffee and other crops are grown by villagers who welcome foreign guests to partake in their hill-tribe way of life. It's about a 14 kilometer hike from the village to the summit of Doi Pha Hom Pok, with plenty of other hiking opportunities in the area.
Please contact Mr. Dome Chaikor at +66 (0)53452875 to arrange homestays in the Lahu village and for hiking and tours.
Phumanee Lahu Home Hotel is a highly recommended place to stay in Fang while on a trip to this newly opened area for adventurous travellers

A great joy of traveling is finding an attraction not talked about in any of the popular travel guides. And sometimes one can find the coolest places just by wandering around.
That’s how we stumbled over this spectacular scenic overlook at the Thai-Myanmar border point at the village of Nor Lae, in Doi Ankhang, Thailand. We’ve traveled all over Northern Thailand and this site presents the most dramatic views of Thailand and a neighboring country we’ve seen, in this case, Myanmar.
The main road through the village of Nor Lae leads directly into a driveway up a small hill. At the crest, you’ll note a shed where village ladies sell their handmade, indigenous wares. Drive straight over the crest, and you’ll enter a small Thai Army border post. You can park and walk about 100 feet right up to the Thai Myanmar border.
From these Mountains and vantage point you can peer directly into the Burmese Valleys below. And of course, direct across from the Thai Army base on a corresponding mountain in Myanmar, is a Burmese Army border observation post.
How to get there:
Plug these coordinates into your GPS:
19°56'26.37"N
99° 2'29.36"E
This journey will take you through some steep mountain roads. Watch out for the herds of cattle. You’re liable to run into them at any turn up in the Mountains. Also, these roads run from finished to very rough condition quickly.
Note: I have pictures to upload. However Trip Advisor is not giving me the option to do so.

Thanatorn Orange Farm mainly grow for small oranges.
I visit this place while on the way to Wat Thaton.
The farm is full with others fruits as well such as jack-fruit, dragon-fruit, big melon and many others.
Pay a small fee and the farm have a big car to bring you tour around.
Flowers and garden behind the farm is very beautiful and the view from higher garden is nice.
You can view the whole farm and many mountain.
The orange juice sell at front door is fresh and cheap.
This farm definitely worth visit and stop to refresh yourself for the long journey.

I have been many times since I live in the Fang area. It is well known to locals and popular with kids. There is a large pool which is deep enopugh to swim comfortably and the far bank os only just visible and looks similar to a natural infinity pool... but you are halfway up a hillside! There is also a spring which feeds a crystal clear pool full of fish which then runs down to the main pool via a very shallow stream which is ideal for toddlers to go into since it is only a few inches deep and only up to a foot in depth at the deepest part. There are vendors who sell food and drinks from their permanent stalls and will also provide mats for sitting upon. Local hill-tribe people also often come and sell trinkets.
Although there is a sign at the entrance with fees for people and vehicles there only seem to be any park officials and charges during big holiday periods such as Songkran, so most of the time entrance is free.
