I’d always wanted to go to the top of Chimney Rock, so I finally did! My 73 year old mom made it, too! Those steps though! We took lots of breaks. Mom was disappointed that the flag wasn’t raised, but other than that it was...MoreWe're so glad you and your mom had a wonderful time in the Park. Thanks again for your review!

Well, I can no longer fully recommend this place. It is a great play place for children. But why would you sell alcohol in a little children's place??? Why? It isn't the place for that whether you drink or not, that is just wrong!!!!!!
Why would you sell something you can't sell to the children this place was built for????

Looking Glass Creamery offers a charming little Cheese Shop onsite at their production facility where all the cheese & caramel is made. You can buy cheese retail or stay for a while and get a glass of wine and one of their beautiful cheese plates. They also sell aged meat, crackers, wine by the bottle, local mustard, bread, and cheese boards. The production floor is NOT open to the public.
We really enjoyed our visit to the creamery - which is a small shop with a small place to sit outside. There is a good variety of delicious cheese and we had a short explanation and tasting, and then choose our cheese plate and set...MoreThanks for taking part in the Cheese Trail and making us one of your stops! Glad you enjoyed everything, and look forward to having you back!

Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains, this 5th generation family farm produces pasture raised meats, organic fruits, mushrooms, and an abundance of family fun! The Farm store is open year around 7 days a week. Our kitchen and butchery offers lunch, catering, and custom cut meats. During the months of September and October we celebrate the fall. General admission during these months covers the corn maze, trike track, culvert slides, farm animals, hay pile, and more. Hay rides, horse rides, and kiddie carts are offered with ride ticket purchase on the weekends. The farm offers three private event spaces. Come see where you food comes from and spend a family day on the farm!
We stopped twice to purchase meat for dinner while renting a nearby cottage for the week. They have a limited selection of fruit and vegetables, but nice selection of farm-raised meats. We were not disappointed. They had weekend activities, but we were rained out of taking the hayride.

My husband and I visited Biltmore Estate specifically to see their annual Spring tulip display and we were not disappointed!!! In the first week of March, all the tulips were in various stages of showing their beautiful buds and colors. We parked near the tulip garden so before leaving we checked out the gift shop there...the Gardener's Cottage. They have wonderful gift items as well as all sorts of garden items for your home.

Our beers are crafted in small batches utilizing only the highest quality ingredients. While we appreciate tradition, we love to experiment with non-traditional ingredients and techniques. In our wide and always expanding spectrum of beer styles, you're sure to find something you'll love!
The accolade of Beer City, USA wasn't granted to this region for nothing! Fairview's first microbrewery impresses and wows. The beer is dang fine, and the atmosphere has been carefully and lovingly constructed. It isn't every day you get to drink a delicious brew inside...MoreThank you J T! We're so glad you enjoyed the beer and the atmosphere! Looking forward to seeing you at the caboose again soon! Cheers!

We stopped early morning for apple picking and started with warm doughnuts! The people there were so nice and provided a map to guide us through the orchard and to identify the varieties of apples. It was especially fun because it was early on a weekday and we were alone in the orchards.
We completed the visit by picking up a couple of pumpkins and more cider doughnuts. Yum.

We found Troyer's Country Amish Blatz on the internet and had read good things. So we decided to take a drive in early October to see what they had to offer. It's located in a rural area, but there were lots of visitors in the two hours we were there. At least seven other groups stopped in for a visit. One of the ladies said that the house is ten years old and was built specifically for the business.
Once you drive up the driveway in front of the building, you park in the back. It's a two-story white house and you walk from the back to the front via a sidewalk and wrap around porch. You enter the house, with a staircase to the left center and a hallway straight ahead. We decided to have lunch and have lots of choices of Troyer's deli meats. The sandwiches are offered on fresh homemade bread and are several inches high. Well worth the wait for fresh sliced deli meat and cheeses. They let you choose your additional snacks, drinks and tell you to take a seat outside on the porch. Once our sandwiches were done, they brought them to us. Every bite was delicious and filling! Sitting outside on a sunny day was wonderful.
On the porch are several rocking chairs that they sell or you can enjoy as you relax. Upstairs are several examples of Amish furniture that you can custom too your tastes. Downstairs, there are several choices of iron skillets and baking pans. You'll also find Amish Wedding foods, toppings and fillings for cupcakes/cakes, chocolates, candies, chips, nuts, grains, homemade soaps, etc. There's a lot to look at! The prices are very reasonable and everything we purchased was fresh.
In the back they have chickens and Alpaca. There's also a small garden to walk through. If we are in the area we will be sure to stop by again.
