I visited the park in order to see the ruins of the New Manchester Factory. Life in New Manchester, now encompassed by Sweetwater State Park, centered around a huge 5-story textile mill. The mill was powered by a headrace channel diverted from Sweetwater Creek.
It was in full production on July 9th of 1864 when US soldiers forced their way into the factory and set the building ablaze. After being detained in Kentucky, the factory workers were set free North of the Ohio River as long as they swore allegiance to the Union and promised not to return to Georgia.
New Manchester did not survive the loss of its employment base and majority of its population, but the 5-story brick walls of the factory still tower above the creek.
This weekend the park celebrated New Manchester days with historic demonstrations and reenactments.

Recently had the pleasure of coordinating an event at The Georgia International Convention Center. It was a pleasure working with such friendly and experienced staff. The one stop shop concept for sound/lighting, food and the best preferred vendor list imaginable, put everything in place for a successful event. Yanous, Dianne, Sharon (Proof of The Pudding), Reggie (Housekeeping) and other GIC staff thanks for helping me create a most memorable occasion. I could not have done it without you.

I had a father's clock renovated by this group. They had several more expensive clocks on site for sale and repair.. It took a year, for my clock to be refurbished, but the wait was worth it and the clock is still working, even though it remained quiet for a long period of time,

Love the golf cart path neighborhoods, staples and restaurants around PTC. Safe for family and kids. All the residents and visitors know the paths exist and are careful. In many of the higher traffic area they've created paths above and below the streets to foster the safety.

This theater is a gem we folks on the south side of Atlanta cherish! Easily accessible from I-85 south, exit 61, the Legacy Theatre has brought first-class theatrical experience to a new level of excellence. The theater is compact, containing not one bad seat, the ticket prices are affordable (seniors and students can receive discounts, as can groups) and every production we have seen has left us eager to return. This theater's superb casts and quality productions are making an impact. Don't miss out!

The U Bar offers the ultimate experience in food, sports, and entertainment in East Point, GA.
I went to the U Bar on a Friday night and it was packed! The atmosphere of the bar is very fun and laid back. They played great music- most of it is rap music! They have $10 pitchers of mixed liquor and $2 drinks. $20 hookah, 25 cent wings. I suggest going early because it took us over a hr just to get seated at a table. There isn't a dance floor- lot of ppl just dance near their table or around the edge of the seating area.
I recommend going here!

You can go walk around and even look inside as visitors are welcome. Great architecture and carvings. And the grounds are pretty nice as well.

This is not for children and inexperienced riders. In my opinion a person planning on participating in this activity has to be at least an intermediate rider and have had some riding lessons previously unless you want to get bucked and thrown to the ground and not refunded. This is not what I had expected as a trail ride. The trail leader didn't give us basic instructions in riding and the horses were temperamental. Although I do love Serenbe, I cannot go without giving a bit of my warning, especially to those who want to bring their children for trail riding. Please message me if you'd like more details about my experience.

What an adventure! this day hike was full of wonderful rustic buildings, water falls, children swimming,, babbling brooks, twisted vines and curious white tailed deer. Yep they come close and linger long, if you know make too much noise. If you are short on time take the orange trail ( across the Cochran Mill Rd. from the parking lot) Be sure to pay your fee and there are clean well stocked restrooms near the play ground. Lease your pooch and prepare to enjoy. Bring extra shoes and clothes ( you could fall in by accident, lol a blanket , jacket , bug repellent, a light if its late in the afternoon ; then get ready to be amazed. Rustic buildings at the intersection of Rivertown Rd and Cochcran Mill R.. Restaurants near by after your explorations. There are several trails to fit your ability. Just do it , what a trip . I will be doing it again.
