Fairborn is a city in Greene County, Ohio, United States, near Dayton and Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. The population was 32,770 at the 2010 census. It is the only city in the world with the name of Fairborn, a portmanteau word created from the names Fairfield and Osborn, the two villages that merged in 1950 after the Great Dayton Flood of 1913 forced Osborn to move out of a flood plain and alongside Fairfield.

The museum is MASSIVE, and there are more planes, military equipment and uniforms, and war artifacts to count. To try to read everything would take hours! The best part about the museum is admission is free! You will definitely get good exercise just walking throughout the space, but prepare for long walks for small kids and those with mobility challenges (I believe there are strollers and scooters available in the lobby) There are several planes in hangar 4, including a few Air Force One, that can be walked through, but the spaces are very narrow, which I can see problematic for larger or older individuals. There are opportunities for flight simulators geared towards older children and adults. My two toddlers (ages 4 and 3) had a great time seeing all the planes, but I wish there were more interactive exhibits/exhibits children could sit in, that would entertain smaller kids. Def recommend for Dayton visitors and history buffs!

Clifton Gorge is a small but enjoyable park East of Dayton bordering the small hamlet of Clifton. This "Preserve" is small compared to State Parks but still contains about 4 miles of hiking trails that follow the gorge. The Preserve adjoins John Bryan State Park for additional hiking opportunities.
Clifton Gorge has two parking areas. Neither is obvious on maps. TripAdvisor is accurate for the main parking area on 343. There is a second parking lot off Jackson Street in downtown Clifton that offers better access to the highlight of Clifton Gorge - the narrows. Regardless, the whole park is small and can be accessed from either lot. The rim trails are relatively flat, but uneven. The lower gorge trail is very uneven and includes several stairways but maximum elevation change is only about 50 feet.
Several signs describe the gorge's geology and history. Plan for 30 - 90 minutes to explore the Preserve. The Gorge may be more interesting after a heavy rain when water is rushing through the rocks. While in Clifton, check out Clifton Mill and the narrow section of the Gorge behind the mill.

Stopped here after a visit to Yellow Springs.. Really nice variety of wines but honestly did not really feel like anyone was overly friendly. We had done a lot of walking so just decided to do tastings at a table instead of the bar so not sure if that was it..but since there were only like 8 people there...it definitely wasn't because they were busy. One friend stood up waiting for a tasting for 5 mins and none of the 2 or 3 behind the bar waited on him. We did not expect them to come to the table so we went back up when we were ready for the next one..but no one was overly friendly or welcoming..doubt we will return. Just very different from other small wineries we frequent where the owners are so happy you are there!

My husband and I started the 2018 with a hike to the Charleston Falls Preserve. It was gorgeous and breath taking. Especially when we walked down the path near the falls. How can that much water freeze in mid air? It was magnificent.

Went to a Brian Culbertson/George Clinton concert at the Rose Music Center at the Heights, Huber Heights, Ohio and boy was I surprised. I have never been in an outdoor fully covered concert venue with fans turning to keep things cool! The venue was wonderful. Brian Culbertson was awesome as usual! George Clinton, not so much. The event staff were excellent taking care of two elderly aunts in the disabled seating section. Loved the venue!

Flat Rock Spirits is a craft distillery, lead by Brad Measel, Shawn Measel and James Bagford. Our love for great handcrafted spirits led us to create StillWrights Straight Bourbon, Moonshine and Rum as it was meant to be–smooth, clean and damn good.
When they say the folks in the Midwest are really nice people they weren't kidding. We emailed and asked for a tour outside of the normal day. What we got was so much more. These guys are doing it right. Great personalized tour, awesome tastings...MoreThank you for the great review, it was a pleasure having you come through the distillery. Until next time, cheers!

1000-acre nature preserve with 25 miles of trails. The "Yellow Spring" of which the town takes it's name can be found here.
Hiked around G H today and throughly enjoyed it. Not very crowded on a Wednesday morning, and got to witness some beautiful scenery. The woman at the nature center was very helpful, and the raptor center is well worth the hike. Crowded on weekends but if you go during the week, you feel that you have the whole place to yourself. $5 parking(entry fee) exact amount helps a lot. Enjoy

I visited for NFL Draft night, and bar was packed, and pizza was great for a bar, and water was cold. Only thing to improve is to have a caffiene free diet soft drink. But ice water was a great subsitute.

Each Game is a real‑life escape room adventure for a small group. Work together as a team to escape the room before time runs out. It’s great for groups of friends, family, or coworkers. You’ll solve puzzles, crack codes, find hidden items, and more in order to escape. You have one goal: escape the room in under one hour! We have 3 rooms the Bank Vault, Outbreak room, and Egyptian Tomb!
This was my first escape room, but I was with others who had been to several others. This seemed like something grade schoolers would come up with, not a professional business. The others in my group agreed and thought the same. Great game, sad set...MoreAmy, Thank you for your response. This is typically something I would hear people say about my competitors. Never in 15 months has anyone said those sort of things about our business. Are you sure you reviewed the right company?
