Bergen Peak is a great hike. Topping out at just over 9700' and at 9+ miles round trip it is a good workout through a beautiful pine forest with great views.

Shadow Mountain Gallery is a gem on the main street of Evergreen. Full of beautiful art from very talented artists known locally and nationally. We were greeted by one of the top artists that has work shown there and made to feel warm and welcome. We immediately purchased a beautiful colorful Giclee of a wolf that hangs proudly in our living room.

Great mountain biking park for beginners
My husband, two teenage daughters, and myself, hiked the Sisters Trail. It was about a 2 mile hike, which was some sun and shade. The hike took us up the mountain at a very easy pace, and then back down. It was a beautiful scenic hike, with lots of rocks for my daughters to climb, and we also were able to get close enough to deer for pictures. Most of the time we were by ourselves on the trail, and would occasionally pass others. I definitely recommend this hike, great picture taking opportunities.

Snow ball fights, ice skating, sculptures, sledding and ice fishing! An ice fisherman even allowed my son to fish! Fun to watch the skating even if you aren’t participating! Great windows and views are available.

The 10 miles drive from Idaho Springs at the end of March was safe and easy. The Echo Lodge right after the Lake is literally covered by ice, unreachable and so is the road to Mount Evans. You won't see the Lake since is frozen and because the recent snow is covered by a white blanket. Birds and a Squirrel asked for food. We saw a lot of Deers marks and poo. It was a nice, easy, short hike. Unexpected for us. Bathrooms were open.
