The Suwaidi Pearls pearl farm is located in the small fishing village of Al Rams, which nestles at the bottom of the majestic Al Hajar mountain range in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE. Established in 2005 by Mr. Abdulla Al Suwaidi, the world’s first Arabian pearl farmer. For the first time in history, the region is now farming Arabian Pearls in the surrounding seas. This historic development links the past to the future and is the defining journey from historic natural pearls to the pearls of the region today. Suwaidi Pearls had opened its doors to the public to share the unique cultural heritage of the pearling industry, explaining the historical evolution and inviting guests to see the underwater treasures of the natural lagoon. Rich in biodiversity and an area of outstanding natural beauty, all around are the gifts of nature. The area is a garden of paradise and a magical place that brings a serenity to the surrounding area.
The whole family loved it! We booked the tour departing Al Rams fishermen marina at 16:30 and enjoyed the afternoon breeze. Iftar was optional as Ramadan had started, but we did not book it. I’d recommend the tour to anyone, interested in the local tradition of pearl diving or cultivating pearl oysters. Thank you, Suwaidi Pearls team, for your hospitality and sharing your knowledge & passion!

The most stunning mountain range in UAE! Visitors can cycle up, go for a hike or the more adventurous can attempt the Jabel Jais Flight which is the worlds longest zipline over the mountains! We did and it was EPIC!

A really nice small little museum that has been established inside an old fort. The museum gives you an great insight in to the histroy of RAK starting from as back as 5000 BC. The best part is that despite being in a very old building, the musuem is 100% accesible with ramps for all stairs as well as to go on the second floor. A few areas of the musuem are still under development yet there is plenty to see. The rooftop view is oretty nice and you can get a nice burds eye view of RAK. The staff is very nice, courteous, and very helpful. The tour is ended with a complimentary Arabian coffee. Parking is plenty and very convenient. The Google Maps however keeps on sending you in loops so just look at the map once and make sense as to where the entrance is.

This was just a quick trip in the afternoon in the most perfect temperatures! There is not too much to review on this as it is a fairly small attraction but well worth the trip! Road access is very easy and you can park right at the bottom of hill which the fort is built on and next to the footpath which climbs up to the hill! There is an excellent information board telling you a potted version of the forts history! This site is not exactly wheelchair friendly but you should be ok if you can walk a couple of hundred metres, the footpath meanders gently back and forth up the hill with the last tiny part is having a few steep steps but not to many and is well worth the effort! I’m 60 years old and not very fit but I found it no problem and even climes the ladders through the hatch onto the roof floor! Getting up and back down was easy for both me and my wife. You get magnificent views of a 360 degree vista from the top or even the just the base of the fort! The surrounding area has a few old and interesting derelict properties which we found very intriguing.

A great mall with everything you need. The Lulu hypermarket has everything that you need and is big. If you are shopping here the best time to visit is Friday morning extremely quiet. Very easy to get to and very clean.
