Poppy Glass Studio is a small stained glass studio located in the Cotswolds. Offering bespoke commissions and on the day purchases as well as both evening and day classes, either over a block of time or in one day.
We’ve just completed a six week workshop at Poppy Glass Studio and had a great time. We learned new skills and our excellent teacher (Megan) showed us in easy stages what to do. My wife and I (both in our late 70s) and our daughter, thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and were most impressed with the studio and it’s facilities, allowing us to produce some really interesting glass Art. Even though we were a little unsure what to expect at the workshops, and being a completely new experience, we soon felt at ease and confident having a go at this work. This was due entirely to Megan’s easy and relaxed (yet very professional) teaching style, and always being on hand to offer advice and guidance when needed. The experience has whetted our appetite to have another go, later in the year. Well done Megan !!!

We parked in Uley and did the rather steep arduous climb into the woods- lovely views and you can stop for a breather whenever you want- not for anyone with a weak disposition! Walking sticks would be helpful for the way down if like me you are not so good on steep down hills!

Prema is a family friendly Arts Centre, promoting performance, live music and art exhibitions as well as accessible workshops, classes and creative experiences for kids and adults. Prema, near Dursley in the Stroud valleys, offers an affordable day out for all folk in the South West.
Tucked away in the gorgeous little Cotswold village of Uley (near Dursley) I stumbled on the brilliant PREMA arts centre. It's tucked away just off the main road, but there's a brown sign pointing the way, Set in a cleverly converted chapel, it contains exhibition spaces, has event rooms for arts and crafts and also hosts live events in the delightful upstairs gallery where, at the time of my visit, there was an extraordinary exhibition of digital art (landscapes made from thousands of hand drawn triangles by local artist Andy Walker). Downstairs there was more digital art by Emy Lou Holmes and a display of designs by Freya Snow. Not to be missed, however, is the fabulous Vestry Cafe which serves a truly delicious range of brunch dishes, snacks and cakes, as well as excellent coffees. Bustling and cheery, I will make this a regular stop off when passing through!

Kingshill House is based in a splendid Georgian Grade II listed building where we run an extensive programme of courses and workshops alongside other arts activities for all the family, such as outdoor theatre, craft fairs, musical performances and exhibitions showcasing local artists. It is a place to explore craft and creativity, and to see unique items created by extraordinary craftspeople.

Stunning Cotswold manor house set in its own private valley. House dates to the 1400s but the site has been inhabited for over 1000 years. Magical hanging gardens open to the public: they slope gently from the church down to the brook at the bottom of the valley, and visitors can find terraced formal gardens, extensive kitchen garden, orchards and woodland walks.
A volunteer-run cinema, showing two films per month. There is a kids' film in the morning, with drinks and snacks provided, and an adults' film in the evening, with a bar.
