We get it. We know how you feel. You crave a life altering, completely over the top experience of beautiful scenery filled with tons of wild trout. Well guess what? You are in luck. You are smack dab in the middle of a fly fishing wonderland. How about wetting your line in an ancient volcano that just so happens to be old Yellowstone? At six thousand feet above sea-level, the Henry's Fork flows out of a spring created by volcanic activity more than a millennia ago. The South Fork of the Snake is insanely gorgeous with enough trout to fill any fly fisherman's net. The Teton has so many different types of water. If you wanted you could only fish the Teton on your stay with us. You wouldn't see the same kind of water each day, whether it was the flat spring creek water right in our backyard, or the winding stretches below the lodge or the deep canyon of the narrows. During your stay at the Lodge, you can expect to fly fish on a different stretch of river every day. With over 25 different sections of fishable river on three blue ribbon fisheries in Idaho, there are years of discovery awaiting even the most experienced fly fishermen.

For a unique perspective on the spectacular Teton Mountains take a scenic glider ride. You and one of our experienced glider pilots will be towed high into the heart of the Teton Range, where you will release from the tow plane and enjoy the magic of motorless flight as you glide back to the Driggs Idaho airport. We also offer scenic airplane rides for up to seven passengers. Call us for details and to schedule your flight.
Had a wonderful time on an instructional flight with Matt. Really know the local area. A true professional. The dispatch staff was also top notch. As a visiting pilot from Georgia, they guided the way from prompt emails to pleasant service when I arrived. They even upped the game with museum tours and local sites to see once I left the airport. If you are not a pilot, take one of their scenic tours, It's a breathtaking view of Teton National Park.

Interactive museum for all ages highlighting the history of the Teton Valley area. This is the first GeoTourism museum in the United States. Geotourism is defined as tourism that sustains or embraces the geographical character of a place - it's environment, culture, aesthetics, heritage, and the well-being of its residents.
I so enjoy having the Geotourism Center as a spot to take visiting family and friends. The installations give a unique insight into the history, people and landscapes of Teton Valley. Central to all things downtown - it makes for a nice stop on a rainy day or just to get a feel for the area.

Teton Rock Gym provides an opportunity for people of all ages and ability levels to to experience the fun of climbing. As the only gym of its kind in the Tetons , Teton Rock Gym offers bouldering, top rope and lead climbing in addition to rental equipment, climbing teams, instruction and even climbing competitions.
We visited during a weekday as we were told it would be less crowded. The staff to visitor ratio can be improved as we had to wait a while to get our equipment and lesson, hence the 4 stars. One employee was trying to assist everyone. Once we got started it was a great time! We were able to stay as long as we wanted, within business hours of course. Definitely worth the $ we spent.

Grand Teton Distillery is an award-winning craft distillery specializing in potato (gluten free) vodka and whiskey. Our spirits are recognized by top experts for their purity, smoothness and balance.
We stopped after seeing advertisements about the tour. The building area is small, which surprised me, but they do a great job producing their products. The process was very interesting and the owner was a great tour guide. Afterwards we went to tasting room and were allowed to try 3 kinds. We did find a favorite. It was worth the drive to see it. Besides, the distillery sits below the back side of the Tetons. What a beautiful view.

The spud is a theater out of the past. Although a bit worn, and not surprisingly so, we had a great time. We ordered our dinner from the snack bar: burgers, corndogs and fries. All were perfect and not expensive. The sound came through the portable radio that we rented just fine and the picture on the screen was perfectly clear and huge reminding me why movies were called the "big screen" years ago.

Scenic hot air balloon tours over Teton Valley.
My fiancée and I took this balloon flight in July 2014 and had a wonderful experience. Chad was our pilot and we are thankful because he is knowledgeable, experienced, energetic, and very hospitable. I proposed to my girlfriend while on the flight and Chad flew the balloon and took pictures for us! The flights are scheduled early in the morning and watching the sunrise coming over the Grand Teton mountain range is breathtaking. It was an amazing experience that my fiancée and I will never forget. Chad was very hospitable throughout the entire process. He prompted to us to take pictures inside the colorful balloon while it was on the ground expanding which made incredible pics with the inside of the balloon as the background. He explained how the balloon works, he took pictures for us when possible, and he even told us some history of the area. The ride itself was very pleasant, I personally don't enjoy heights but this flight was so gentle and calm that I felt completely safe and enjoyed the whole ride. The landing was one little bump, Chad landed very well. Bring a hat and camera. Also, Chad uses a GoPro and records the whole flight. So we have my proposal on video. We highly recommend Teton Balloon Flights!

The reader should decide:
The company does all they promise.
The people involved are very nice.
It is a somewhat unique experience you are unlikely to see again: Yellowstone in the winter.
It is also really loud…think large chainsaw at full throttle.
It is very cold….duh….but going realllly fast makes for incredible wind chill.
It can be very tiring. Note the hours of the tour. Did I say you'll get reallllllly cold ?
My recommendation is to take a shorter tour if you can find one, or perhaps just go skiing in nearby Grand Targhee.
